What is dead may never die, but will rise harder and stronger.
At least this is what i say when i see a wonderful AAR like this.
I'd suggest the "Crowned Stag" scenario.
With Viserys and Dany out there, there is a good possibility for a future megawar, something that wasn't the case in this scenario, because of Aegon and Balerion.

I think that's a really bad idea. When there's no chance for historical diversion early on, the ARR loses much of it's interest. That's my biggest gripe about this AAR; That they started after the Gardeners and the Hoares were already extinct, and all the Kingdoms were united.

Still think after the Spring would Work, Because then there's House Blackfyre in play as well.

I'm in favor of a War of the Usuper type.

I prefer either the Bleeding Years or the Blackfyre Rebellion.

Still think after the Spring would Work, Because then there's House Blackfyre in play as well.

Why After the Spring and not the Blackfyre Rebellion itself? It's much more interesting when there's a chance of them winning.

Well presuming every player is a LP they have a higher chance of winning in After the Spring provided some of them flip sides. Though Blackfyre Rebellion could also work. The Issue i have with starts earlier then Spring is well, dragons which kinda make plotting against the King a useless gesture and Crowned Stag/Ninepenny/Clash/Feast all have a lot more moving parts.

Dragons do not bring only obstacles when it comes to plotting.

Playing as Baratheons, I did my best to always keep a dragonrider at Storm's End. That means inviting members of House Targaryen to my court or making one commander of a small army and sending him to KL where a riderless beast dwelt. Had not the relations between Aegon B and Maelon been as good as they were, a rebellion would've broken in an instant. I also almost brought the Targaryens to their doom by sending Vhagar and Prince Aerion against Queen Elaena when she went rogue and tried to invade my lands.

I acknowledged the problem with dragons later when they began to reproduce more rapidly(something you readers never got to see). I was weaving plots and preparing to pull off a stunt that would have amazed everyone - had not real life come in our way. There's no point in hiding it now since we've pretty much buried this story. I have told Andrzej in detail what I was about to do, and he was awed.

Awed mostly because of how the intrigue went, and how as Maelon, I managed to inadvertently suppress it with JUSTICE and RIGHTEOUSNESS. At least until the Good King Maelon would've died. Then, given the status of... basically all of Maelon's potential heirs, it likely wouldn't have taken much to have a rebellion foment against them. Still, that said, I definitely didn't expect Aegon Baratheon to have been the potential leader of a rebellion, since I considered him as something of a Hand.

I'm curious as to the full plan.

Anyways, I'm gonna be (Hopefully) picking up CK2 and the important DLCs during the holiday sales, so I'll be able to join you when/if you start again, if you'll allow me.

Do not get me wrong.

Aegon Baratheon was a soldier and loyal to his cousin. There is no denying that. He did his best to help Maelon rule the realm by doing what he had been taught - fighting rebels for example. He learned that and to respect the crown from none other than his namesake.

But as a player I am merciless. Countless hours of CK2, thinking only how to get that one county more one way or another, will do that to you. I was ready to destroy almost everything I'd built as King Aegon when I was playing Baratheons. Why? To keep the game interesting. And because I could.

Aegon was loyal to Maelon, but what of the king's offsprings who one day were to inherit the Iron Throne? Aegon had no love for Maelys for reasons you readers will understand. He had no desire to see Maelys' son Aerion on the throne either.

As someone who roleplays at... pretty much every game where you're given an individual character to play as, and encourages others to do the same, I don't usually do stuff like that, but I respect that it was your game to play, and that it definitely would've been awesome to read about.

My time in the army ends in December. That doesn't necessarily mean that I will have more time as I need to get my life in order. But who knows.

I have discussed continuing this project with the others, but it is more likely we would start a new scenario if we ever again happened to sit down and play together.

Besides, I am not sure we would have enough dedicated players to fill all the spots. Finding the right people proved to be the most difficult part in the past. After all playing is only a small part of this project - it is writing that takes most of the time.

Throwing new guys to play characters they have no history or bond with is not a very welcoming thought either. But then again, that would not be a problem if we started a new scenario. I have a few ideas regarding it already, but only time will tell if they'll ever come to be.

I completely agree with your assessment, and if you start a new scenario and you need a new player I am available.

Should we start up a new multiplayer AAR, I too am in. Would love to take part in something like this again.

I wholeheartedly agree with this, if you guys want me again just say the word, was great fun playing with you guys last year. :)

True there my friend, Aidun's plan as far as I remembered was to rebel against Mealons heir, and become independent, with the Tyrells and who knows who else at his back...
