I talking specifically about Lost Colony and Scion origins here. If i set my game settings to stop Fallen Empires or Advanced AI's from spawning then there should be no way for them to spawn whatsoever. It is a simple work around whereby the randomized Empires created for a game are locked out of the options for those origins when the game settings are set in the way whereby such Origins do conflict. As a very casual player of the game i don't like Advanced AI or Fallen Empires, so why should i be subjected to such aspects of the game if i have very specifically turned them off only for the Origin system to overrule me? The answer is i should not, and so i expect this to be resolved to avoid cases where i had a Scion start and their FE awoke to curb stomp the entire galaxy, not fun, not for me.

IF you use Lost Colony then you are not an advanced AI and so it doesn't matter. If you go with a Scion origin then simply set your Fallen Empire settings to '1' and problem solved
I usually set them to 0 but forgot to increase them this time. Now what?

The game prompts you with a pop up message indicating a conflict in settings and origin choice and gives you an option to increase the setting for FE to 1
The person trying to play the empire with the Origina and the game starter are not the ame person, because some play in Multiplayer - what now? Who will get the message?
There will just be no end to such issues.
Player selected origins will always overrule game settings. It is the simplest way to deal with those issues. If you want a MP game without those, just make it a MP rule. Like many games had banned Shattered Ring before 3.0.

Scion for the AI currently does check if FE's are allowed.
However Galactic Doorstep and Lost Colony have no such checks.

It's an easy fix regardless. When you're in the multiplayer lobby after having chosen or made your empire it can simply outline the conflicting players origin with say a red or orange frame to indicate a conflict between their origin and the games settings. So it then falls to the person running the game to either accept that and play with that players origin causing a settings change, or simply notify the player that the chosen origin is not allowed. In-fact such lobby's could even be made to outright disallow certain origins. In this case the player choosing or creating their empire will be unable to select that empire or the option for the restricted content whilst making said empire. This even stops certain players from trolling a game runner who specifically asked for such content not to be used.

Simply put, a single player game gives you a message prompt before beginning that the empire chosen and settings are in conflict, and in a multiplayer lobby either you are given a visual indication via the border frame of a player of such conflicts, or you can choose to restrict content that prevents empires with such restricted content from being chosen.

It is surprisingly a lot of work to:
- add a "conflict with setting" check into unmodable code
- add the message box/notificaiton
- add a reliable check/transfer of information
- a thousand more abuse cases they have to cover

Meanwhile it is easier to just have all players in the MP game use the same mod that turns those origins off or just verbally agree to not use those origins.

I am totally on board with adding checks to the Galactic Doorstep and Lost Colony Origins for AI's.
But anything beyond that - while it would certainly be nice, I do not want the Devs to "waste" time on this feature with their long list of other features I want ;)
