Hi

I want to change my resolution from 1680x1050(game, not pc) to 1280x1024, but when i do that manually from settings file, game will not start properly and crashes. Also, that happens if i try to change "draw_trees=no". For some reason, when i changed my pc resolution, game also crashed ???
If i delete settings file, game will run normal, but i would like to do those things to gain a tiny performance boost.

Any idea on what could be the issue, because i am out of ideas.

Edit: i hate steam version btw.

Settings.txt was identical in the old GG version to the Steam version, so your problem has nothing to do with Steam.

Can you not do that resolution change within the game? If the one you want it not there, your video card/driver combination may not support it. See the file system.log in the /logs/ folder there, at the end of that are the supported resolutions.

But that doesn't explain why turning trees off would crash the game (although again you can do that in the game). What utility are you using to edit settings.txt ? You have to use a text editor like Notepad or Notepad++, not Word or Wordpad.

Failing all else you can delete or rename settings.txt and the game will make a new one at defaults.
