Setting up Supply Depots

Hi there,

I am reading the plain vanilla HOI 2 manual and the HOI 2 wiki. Both mention supply depots and their role but I can not find instructions on how to create new supply depots and allocating a ton of oil for example to them. Is there a thread for that anywhere or have I missed any spec page?

You just set up a convoy and the supply depot is created wherever the convoy ends. The game will take care of this for you most of the time if you have auto create/destroy convoys on, though the system messes up on occasion.

Depots also get created when you have one or more provinces in an area producing resources (energy, metal, etc.), and any supply convoy set up will put the depot in the same province.

Unfortunately it isn't possible to tell the game to build up a large depot. The amount of supplies and oil in a depot seems to be tied to the needs of the units supplied from the depot. The more units you have supplied from a depot the more the AI will ship. If you have the convoy screen set to automatically manage convoy sizes, it'll send a large convoy once in a while, fill the depot to maximum (set by the needs of the units supplied), then set the convoy not to run until depot gets low on supplies or oil.
