Is this possible?

Basically trying to get factories built in the Southern States and building only Dixie culture troops turning all the Yankees into clergy, don't research any mil-tech etc, make Texas a slave state.

When the pop-up appears, disband all your troops from the northern states if you're cheesy. Focus soldiers in the south. Staying away from mil-tech doesn't matter since the CSA and the USA have the same tech at the outbreak of war.

1. Yes
2. How do factories help the CSA win? Whats the point of turning Yankee POPs into clergy? IIRC CSA & USA get the same tech. Why only Texas? You can make any colony a slave-state.

Factories = more money?
Clergy I don't know - do they get mobilised?
Texas will probably be a richer more populous state where the western and central states you colonise are probably going to be poor and useless.

1. Not this early in the game
2. How is that good for you? Clergy raise literacy, why waste your NF on the northern states?
3. Uhhm so what? Texas being slightly "better" makes the other states useless and not worth taking?

I suppose use the nf on the CSA states then.
I thought any slave state gives the CSA cores? I am not sure because I was reading the wiki (http://www.victoria2wiki.com/Confederate_States_of_America) and it suggested not making those slave states because you might not end up with places like Georgia and Virginia joining you.

In your first reply you answer that yes you can prepare the Southern states for war with the USA but in all of your posts you have failed to explain how, only criticising my uneducated suggestions! I would like to know how to make the CSA set up to win the ACW.

Never had that happen to myself. Most (read: not all) slave states will get CSA cores. Every region with CSA cores joins the CSA except for Delaware(?), Washington DC, Maryland, West Virginia and Missouri. Never had problems with Georgia and Virginia, the wiki is outdated and should be ignored for the most part.

Because there are tons of ways of doing it. Even without any special preperation you can win with the CSA. Nevertheless, heres a step by step guide.

1. Use your NF to encourage clergy and soldiers in the most populous Southern States
2. Dont enact any of the consciousness-lowering decisions. For the Civil War to start, you need two events to fire, one requiring high consciousness in the Northern States and one requiring high-consciousness in the Southern States. Go to the files to check for the exact values.
Optional from here on out in no particular order:
A. Disband all brigades from the north, or get them killed fighting in Mexico (that way the USA cant recruit more troops during the war).
B. Justify a conquest CB once both Civil War events fired to get USA infamy above 25
C. Mobilize as the USA after both Civil War events fired and disband all mobilized troops. (Idk if this somehow breaks CSA mobilization, but I doubt it)

I never played the USA per se but I noticed that if the USA are at war with Mexico when the CSA event fires (and CSA is big enough), USA will eventually give up the war against CSA, even with a warscore over 60 (CSA will however be exhausted). You can also release New England and the Manhattan Commune (Massachusetts is quite populated). Also building a lot of forts and harbours in the south and not in the North will be quite a boost. If the North has no harbours, then the CSA navy will have a chance against it.
Finally, letting UK colonise the North West could be of some help : if CSA becomes a neighbour, there will be a high chance that (after the war) UK spheres the CSA.
