I'm curious as to whether or not the current implementation of war objectives for allies/vassals is working as intended.

Allies/Vassals in my experience don't pay much attention to objectives. It seems like they are more of a kind suggestion than anything else. For allies, I can see this argument. You can ask them to do something all you want, but they still may not. That's fine. Vassals, however, I would expect to be more attentive to the objectives set by their overlord.

Specifically, I'm wondering if I'm missing something in the combinations between vassal military attitude and objectives. I've tried aggressive, neutral, and supportive, yet none seem any more likely to get subjects to go after objectives.

I would like to see subjects more attentive to overlord objectives.

I've noticed the same. It really doesn't have any noticeable effect on the game at the moment, which is a shame. I would also like a "do nothing" focus for subjects so they don't get involved in certain wars.
