A battle of force leaves the strong alive and the weak dead.
A non-violent solution leaves everyone alive, leaving all nations weaker on average, and makes their defeat all the more inevitable when someone with real balls comes along.

A battle of force leaves the strong weakened and the weak dead.

That's why you attack Ottomans and France when they have high WE, when even an alliance of weaker states can overcome a battered major power. ;)

Wait, isnt "battle of force" what British were doing while making the greatest empire in history? Strong were alive, but so were the weak, and the empire is no more.

Now compare that to the US. They were strong, but they conquered the world not trough force but via brain. Modern capitalism, PC, internet etc.

First of all, don't assume that I approve of the British Empire. I am half Irish, half Australian, so I have mixed views about it.
Regardless of anything else, an empire based on strength will last longer than the American empire, which will be gone by the end of the century unless there is some major military confrontation between the west and China.
Oh and the internet was invented by Tim Burners-Lee, a British man.

I HAVE to stop you before thread hijack.

Good topic worth discussion though.
