Am I the only one who doesn't like this at all? There really ain't no point in, inheriting any more if you don't gain the cores. The only bonus by inheriting is no infamy. If I would have liked that nation as vassal I would way more prefer that instead of coming into a PU with them and not gaining the cores.

You get the cores that are in your culture group. If Thuringia inherits Hesse, that will grant a core. If they inherit Portugal? Good luck holding it, as you will get no cores.

Okay. But it doesn't make sense. Let's say that England's king wants to pass the throne to Italy when he dies. So the king of Italy becomes the king of both nations. And yet the English provinces are not considered "cores" and have huge nationalism? If this would make sense, then you should lose all your cores when a dynasty changes.

By the way, you should be thrilled, in the several games I've toyed with so far since the patch Finland has formed and stuck around as a decent-sized nation every time.

Good change, prevents France-Spain style of imbalances without a massive war.

I think it's assuming that the locals wouldn't like foreign usurpation by a less local culture group. Makes a certain kind of sense, perhaps there should be a series of events to win the love of your new people or lose the entire enchilada to a local pretender.

This new rule must have been added to combat how over powered inheritance is. But this is too far to the other extreme, it would be impossible to hold an inherited nation's colonies and everything. It would better to get cores on everything that was cored by the nation before you inherited it. No more cores on uncored territory though, that was what has really made inheritance over powered in the past.

So the English would love to have a Scottish guy sitting on the throne... No way! And What about Austria when they inherit Hungary? Or Aragon on Sicily and Sardinia. :/

Hey! don't look at me I didn't write the thing :)

I'd much prefer that the region map meant something in that bit as well.

I always want to reform the Jagellonian Empire in my Poland games, but it's a vast stretch of cultures and extends into the HRE. Every country, especially the European ones, should have a Byzantine-like option to restore old borders like that.

This is a really, really good change.
Inheritances were way too powerful before, this brings them back in line.
And "only" getting no BB is still an awesome advantage well worth the effort to engineer inheritances.

well this can lead to some strange outcomes , like france inheriting england , not only you would not gain cores , but on non-french cultures non-british cultured provinces all cores would be lost :D

I think this is an excellent change.

Is it same culture or same culture group to retain cores, though? I mean, Austria should be able to inherit Bavaria without much trouble, but not Milan.
