Does anyone Know How many 'Design Blueprints' We can have? I Know we obviously can have more then 1 Corevette type, Upto 2/3 probably but is there a max? Say if i want to use all 6 Battleship Hulls would i be able too, is what im wondering So, i'd have 6 different battleship Blueprint designs (Example; Leviathan-Class Battleship, Neuron-Class Battleship, Heavenly-Class Battleship, Phoenix-Class Battleship, So on.) I Really Hope we can have a max of 10 or 12 per ship for designs. Or no Limit for the desinging blue prints at all would be nice too! :)

I don't believe there is a limit though I could be wrong about that. I would like to point out that there would have to be a lot of slots for ships, defense stations, everything that you might build like that and design for, It would seem to require a concerted effort to limit the number designs so I think you should easily have enough room for your designs. Though I wouldn't know for sure.

can we took all our designs into a new game? do all races have the same slots and modules?

considering tech draws are random, there;d be little point - you're rarely, if ever, going to get the exact same techs as last game. your lasers might be stronger, or you got awesome special shields, or a great long ranged combat computer. you'll want to adapt your ships to that and what you're facing, there's no best build for all campaigns.

I forgot the random techs, your right. it make no sense to took over design in a new game.

Do you know if we can have different designs of same ship type in the fleet? Like classic armed-to-the-teeth battleship and other one designed as carrier?

How does the game determine which blueprint to follow when clicking "upgrade all ships" when a bunch of ships are selected?

IIRC you create a certain type(i.e. a fellowship type destroyer class ship). if you upgrade the type, all ships originally created of the type get upgraded.

If you have 3 battleship designs do they all look identical?

Nice necro ;)

But no, you don't have 3 battleship designs. Battleships have 3 cores or segments (the front, the middle and the back) and for each of those segments you have 3 or so different designs with somewhat different looks and a different setup of weapon slots.

I started watching a steam today which showed 3 different Corvette designs, but Corvettes only have one segment so its good to know the variation becomes greater the larger the ship type is (assuming I haven't misunderstood).

I think there should be a limit of 9 ship designs.

Ben Brode said:
We're just worried that players who have 18, 30 deck slots ship designs can get overwhelmed and forget which one's which. It gets a lot more complicated quickly.

Nine is a really great number for user interface purposes when you're choosing a deck ship design to use to face someone on the Ladder in space. And there are tools like Excel or other things you can use to save your decks ship designs. You can take screenshots of them. So it's not impossible, but it's a quality of life thing that can also decrease the quality of life for players who are already struggling to remember all the decks ship designs they have even with nine.
