I never considered that before, because of the leader limit.
But after seeing my Artillery Battleships swoop into the middle with my picket Destroyers I think it could help.
How even is that AI working? Because in my exerience it just doesn't at all.

So does separating ships according to Combat Computer designation (Swarm, Picket, Line, Artillerey) work?

I'll probably go and experiment with it myself as well, but any insight is welcome!

You usually only use monofleets as fleets use the speed of the slowest ship. This also allows stuff like soaking the enemy alphastrike with corvettes using their high evasion.

Well, my Titan went in like a picket Destroyer would, even though it has Artillery Command Computer, which should stop it at 80.
Although the Kinetic Artillery (120) is the shortest range weapon on it, so it could easily stop at 120 as well. It was the only ship in its "fleet".
Plus it was a Cautious admiral, which means it can shoot all of its weapons from 144.

The combat roles seem to be non-existent/irrelevant, so it doesn't worth to split the fleet by range or combat roles.
(I'm still hoping one of you will prove me wrong tho, or that it's only temporarily broken)

What Veilmann wrote seems viable though.
