Sending Gifts

How do I send a gift to a country? I've been looking for it in the Diplomacy option (and everywhere else) but I can't find it. Manual says you can do it, but it doesn't say how. I've got version 1.10. Do all versions have it?

I'm struggling with Protestant England because I can't set up any powerful alliances with other countries.

Also if you have any strategies on playing England (religion path, technology priorities, etc)

Any help on these would be apprieciated.

In the top left of the diplomaticy window there should be an option to see relations with the country select it and another window will appear were you can send gifts.
