I have a question about the old equipment.

for example:
I play GB and have researched the Spitfire.
i change my 1000 old Hurricanes with my new Spitfires.
Then i have the old Hurricanes in stock, is this correct?

what is, when i have a lot of old planes, tanks and equipment (for the Inf.) in stock, but not enough manpower?
Can i create Iraq as a puppet state and give them all of my old weapons?
I would have a strong partner in middle east and africa.

I think thats the best think i can do with the old weapons.
I have no use for this old stuff.

(Germany can do the same with the baltic states)

I dont want give away my new equipment, but if i only produce spitfires (new equipment), what should i do with the old hurricanes (old equipment)?
I would change the old equipment against the new.

Devs have mentioned that during war you most likely won't be able to produce enough of the new stuff. You will need to use pre war stockpiles, just like it happened IRL.

Well, 100 old planes are better than nothing. I think there is a mechanic where planes put on air superiority gives better spotting on incoming bombers etc. So if you put your old planes on that duty over the english channel, you can then put your spitfires on intercept missions.
Planes gets destroyed also when on duty due to the realiability stat. So better to put older planes on AirSup and hold you new planes on the ground to lower realiabilty losses on those.

You could also put them to use in a theatre where opposition is weaker. You can never have to much equipment.

To answer your question: yes, you can do it. You can send old or new stuff to whoever you want (as long as you have the convoys to do it, and possibly protect it otherwise they won't receive anything and Davy Jones will have an airforce of his own)

Then there's the question of whether you should do it, but that depends on too many variables. Are you really sure you will never need those planes? Are you sure it's not more efficient to use them yourself instead of sending them to some ally that maybe has not infra and doctrine to use them properly? Are you sure they won't be used against you at some point?

That makes sense, thank you.
After reading all posts, the only reason to do this is, when i have a lot of stuff, but no manpower.
The decision to do this / or not, would be a interesting part of the game.

thanks for the helpful comments.

Well, planes are not related to manpower, as far as I know. But they lower the airfields efficiency if you start using too many of them.
Essentially, in your example, if you're producing more Spitfires than you lose and all your important areas (England, Pacific, Africa etc...) are covered, I don't see why you should keep tons of Hurricans in your depots but can you really have too many fighters in the Pacific?
