I'd probably be interested in this, I hope it's not too late to enter, I'll let you know whether I'm definitely in or not tomorrow.
I am also interested to join. In a game like that I guess it should be possible to join because current players may later start to assassinate each other and that may reduce the number of players in a long run. However GM will decide what is proper number of players in the game.
If I am allowed to join then I would like that my name would be Gaius Draconius.
I believe someone with a little more skill when it comes to administration would be more suited to this very important postion within the Republic. I mean no offense.

This is an important time in the history of the Senate and the People of Rome. Our Republic stands on the brink of a glorious era, yet the risks are great and threats to her survival are many.
Having repelled the barbarous Epirote and expanded our benevolent rule over Magna Graecia a few years ago, and having just incorporated the last Etruscan cities and the once troublesome Picenum, our control of Italia is now complete and secure.
One could think that a tremendous era of prosperity and peace awaits us, a new Golden Age brought to us by the reveared Immortals, whom Roman citizens have always worshipped with joy, pride and great care. How I wished it would happen.
Yet I ask you: Is this the last war we'll see? Is peace really upon us? Will we be able to go back to our farms and fields and will we use plows instead of swords for the eons to come?
Nay, I dare say. Rome has always had enemies, plotting in the shadow or in the open, ready to exploit her smallest weakness to attack her. If we can enjoy some quiet moments, it only means that enemies will strike us soon. The temple of Janus never stays closed for long.
Therefore, I tell you, honorable Senators, colleagues, friends, we have to be ever watchful. We have to build an even stronger Rome, an even more powerful City, that will prosper for the ages, yet at the same time, we have to prepare for the inevitable onslaught of barbarians, whose wish to plunder Rome never stops, and for the treachery and inmity of bigger and wealthier powers, who don't want to share their place in the sun with the newly revealed power that is Rome.
The Atilii have have served the Republic for a long time, and have always been prepared to administer the City or to lead her armies, whenever and wherever it was required. I will not fail Rome this time, when she needs more than ever to be wisely ruled and nobly defended.
The esteemed Aemilius Cicero has proposed me to be military tribune, if he's elected as Consul. I would be honored to serve my City in such a way, were I nominated, and would pray the Gods to give me, and the legions, courage, strength and honor.
As for me, I won't run for any elected office this year. I will cast my votes later this day, when all candidates will be announced.

Basically there is nothing that speaks against you two entering the fray. But let me explain the idea behind the concept. If you look at it, there are right now only two people, who actually "do" something in terms of deciding stuff. The Consul and the Tribune. When things progress, the number of Tribunes will rise, so more people will hold offices. The others can`t do more than recruiting clients, try to reduce other Senators client numbers and improve the own prestige through feasts. Of course, with increasing the own number of clients, "deals" in the Senate will become (hopefully) more important.
I thought a lot about including more content, but let me see first, if I can handle the current content more or less easily in the upcoming turns, for this is the first game of SPQR and I don`t have the slightest idea how it will work out (yes, you are all beta-testers). If I can handle it, I might (I repeat: might) come up with another Office (Plebeian Tribune) and a concept, that involves the roman people. That would add some more intrigue for the people without Office.
But as I said, for the next turns it will stay the way it is. If you can live with that, you`re welcome.

As far as colors are concerned I`m pretty dispassionate. Just chose something, that`s easy to read.
There's a limited amount of colors, so sooner or later, it'll be tricky.

Hello fellow senators, friends and most importantly Romans! It is with great excitement and much jubilation that I will announce my intent on running for Consul.
What sets me apart from my esteemed colleague Aemilius Cicero? Well my friends while Cicero does have a good war record I believe mine is a bit more tested. While Cicero was fighting and killing mere brigands who were stealing food, I was busy doing what the Consul and Senate asked to do fighting the Sabellians.
I believe a Consul must also have good administrative powers as well. My friends I have a very good business trading slaves, so my friends I can also do the tedious little things that can separate a general from a universal leader.
Esteemed Senators these are trying times we are in right now; Carthage gaining in power and the possible alliance of Syracuse with them as well. Do you not remember our early days and the trouble we had with the Etruscans. Well my friends we didn't want war then, nor now, but it found us and I am sure it is going to find us again with Carthage scoffing at our very existence.
Right now Rome needs true leadership; not backroom deals that make the common whore blush. The Senate is much better than that and the people, who I might add we represent, deserve better than that.
For all those who wish to see Rome prosper need not only sacrifice Bulls to Jupiter and Minerva, but also let your conscience guide your vote, not the selfish thirst for power.
