why Semper Fi and not a other patch (1.5) for Hearts of Iron 3 ?
how you get the name semper fi ?

Answer to the last question seems to be simple. This expansion deals mainly with Pacific theatre and naval invasion AI, so the motto of marines kind of presents itself.

Why expansion? I would say that the reason was to fix problems that are too deep in the system to be cured by simple patch.

To explain slightly further: "Semper Fidelis" (often shortened to "Semper Fi") is the motto of the United states marine corps. It means "Always Faithful". The picture of US marines raising the flag on Iwo Jima is a pretty iconic image of the Pacific war, so I expect that's why the expansion name is marine themed.

USMC's motto is "Semper Fidelis", correct.

Royal Marines "Per Mare, Per Terram" and the Dutch "Qua Patet Orbis".
The oldest Marines I know of, the Spanish, use "Per Terra et Mare".

I prefer it to be a full add-on, they would never do achievements, theatres and better AI in a smallish patch... Now my preference will cost me some $$$.

Oh, and about Semper Fi, Lwow had it in its coat of arms before there even was USA. It's not like it's an American thing only.
