i would love a more advance way to controll your air units.. just the way you asing your allies to attack certain places.. the same command should be for air units... you simply tell them where u want bombs.. air supply.. air drops ect.. now it simply bombs where it wants untless u do it manually
where is the differents between giving a command and setting an objective...
About Paradox business strategy. It makes a lot more sense to sell the game while you have developed most of it, then make expansions for it. You get a more continuous supply of money. There will always be people who are not satisfied and buy the expansions to make their games more enjoyable. In the case of HoI3 i just decided to wait for the expansion(as i knew it was obviously coming) and a good mod and then enjoy it. With Semper Fi and ICE the game is very good. The only game Paradox has released in a playable condition in several years was Victoria 2 and almost instantly you could get a mod for fixing the bugs and things which made the game a little unbalanced.
I just bought SF today and downloaded it and the two patches. Now the game closes out once I load a new game. Not sure why this is. I can't seem to start a new thread even though a year ago or so is when i registered the game. Anyone know how this can be fixed? Unistall everything???
you haven't registered any game and your question belongs into the tech support forum. register your games to get access to it.
You don't have any games registered. If you did, they would show up under the flag under your name. See other posters and the little icons under their name for what I'm talking about. You should probably try to register the games again. Go to My Games (on top) and enter in the keys. If that doesn't work out, there might be a technical issue with registration in which case you should probably post in Paradox General Forums --> Forum Help and wait for a response from Kallocain, the community liason.
where did you register them before? as far as i know there is not other place at least not from paradox.
i found where to register them here. i registered using the CD I bought from the store. not sure why it wasn't linking. maybe that feature was added afterwards. but i posted to tech forum. i hope i get some answers becasue now i cant play the game at all.
For those that are entirely unfamiliar with HOI, would anyone recommend Hearts of Iron 3 and Semper Fi, since Gamersgate is having a weeklong 70% sale? To be honest, I'm just now learning the nuances of Divine Wind, and I have my hands full. Also, until now, I haven't had much interest in the HOI series. The sale is what is piquing my curiosity. I don't need an excuse to spend money right now, so I could use a sincere assessment of where the game stands right now. Even though Paradox games are complex enough to give me a headache from time to time, I want to at least consider supporting another game from a company that embraces such attention to detail. In my experience, few games can compare.

I certainly didn't consider Victoria 2 to be any good on release. I guess it depends what you mean by playable, but it was pretty awful. Rather than complain about it I just shelve the game until a new patch comes out and try again. Still terrible, wait and try again. Eventually they will get it to a reasonable state. If you get frustrated with this process I would suggest not buying any PI games until after a final version is released. It will save you some money as well.
With planes you actually have much more useful option such as cone and radius. Learn them as you will love those options.
