then maybe steam hasn't released it. i remember something about virtual programming no longer working with steam...
I purchased HoI 3 on Steam (Mac and PC, woo!) but Semper Fi is only available for Windows. Unfortunately I couldn't get the GamersGate version of Semper Fi (MAC) I bought to work with the steam version of HoI3 (MAC). No great loss, I just had to play Vanilla for that holiday until I got home to my PC!
wont the gamersgate version work with the steam one?? I emailed gamersgate seeing i already own the PC one and asked if there was any discount or anything i could get towards the Mac version but they said no i had to buy again which i feel is a little unfair as i already bought a copy, but they said it was to do with different distributors for the pc and mac versions. thanks for the help guys

Where is the folder on my mac so i could copy the hearts of iron 3 folder from the stream location to a different location and buy semper fi for mac to this folder?
Is anyone able to help me? or give me another advice? looked on the forum and internet but could not find anything.

We do not sell the Mac version of HoI3 nor SF, so I wouldn't know why it is not available on Steam. Please ask Virtual Programming instead (www.vpltd.com) as they are the ones who make and sell the mac version as well as decide where they are going to sell it. Sorry, but that is all I know about this issue.
if i know where to find my folder to copy the hoi3 map i will be much further. could anyone help my? (i am a rookie mac user) ;-)
A lot of Paradox expansions don't make it to Steam for some reason. I bought EU3:HTTT on Gamersgate after buying the base game on Steam, and it works fine.
The directory is hidden away somewhere, it's not in an obvious place like the Applications folder. Steam is weird like that.
But once you find the proper directory, the Gamersgate Semper Fi should work fine with Steam HoI3. Then you have the added bonus of not running the Steam client when you want to play the game

I have a steam version of HOI3 on my pc and mac, I later added a steam version on SF on the PC, but like the guys above could not upgrade my mac version via steam. Without realising there would be a problem I purchased a download from gamersgate and hit the problem trying to install on the mac because it needs the directory which HOI3 is saved to.
I found the directory after some digging.
It was in /Mac HD/Users/"my name"/library/application support/steam/steamApps/common/hearts of iron III
I changed the download directory to this and installed ok. I then dragged this directory to places, because a shortcut would not work and now I can run the HOI3 application from places and I dont have to start steam....so is all is good.

I first bought Hoi3 from steam. When they failed to release Semper Fi, I ended up buying both Hoi3 and Semper Fi from Gamers Gate. I have even figured out how to install the ICE and HPP mods on the Mac version. Life is good, but in a few days they are going to release FtM for PC only and I'll probably end up having to buy all three for PC.
All you have to do with the Steam version, is seperate the HOI3 folder from your Steam apps folder and stick it on your desktop. Then when you buy SF from Gamersgate and it asks which folder you want to patch click on the Hoi3 folder on your desktop (keep a vanilla copy of both the patch and HOI3. Then, when you launch the game it will update to 2.04d.

tried: first time it installed and updated. now after another try (did something wrong by placing mods). it does run but not update anymore.. anyone? sent VP an support request but if anyone does know an other option?... please let me/us know!
