Hold onto your seats for this one, going to be a 2 part issue. Campaign time is golden time for the media, and we bring it all to the people.

Mr. Lundgren:
As a long-time subscriber and reader of The New Republican, I was surprised and saddened to see the party and coalition I have affiliated myself mentioned in the same breath as "dictators," solely (so far as I can ascertain) on the basis of certain private meetings we held to create the New Eutopia Coaltion.
I must ask you if you are so naive as to presume that the Unity Party sprung into being fully formed, a Pallas erupting from the brow of Jupiter? Are we to assume you believe that the august members of the UP awoke one fine morning, all sharing the same idea of forming a party? If you wish to tar us with a brush of jackboots and brown shirts, is it not appropriate for you to ask into the foundations of the UP as well?
The NEC was formed after lengthy and difficult pirvate negotiations between P4P and UEF leadership. I fully admit these negotiations did not take place in the public eye, but I do not how that indicates a fault on the part of the NEC, anymore then the presumed negotiations that founded the UP should reflect badly on them.
You accuse us of being fraudulent in our claim that we would bring new blood to Eutopian politics. I admit we have some veterans - a former president and some ministers - and I am proud of them and the wisdom they bring us. The majority of our party, however, consists of businessmen and accomplished professionals who have not been part of the political process. The UP, on the other hand, boasts three presidents and two vice-presidents, including those that directly preceded the breakup of our country. Yes, the UP has experience; should the Eutopian voters assume they learned from that experience, that they learned from their mistakes?
If the Republican is a newspaper, and not a partisan organ, then it should remove its editorial voice from its news articles, and honestly and clearly label editorial pieces as such.
I remain, a loyal reader,
/s/Lucien Napier, Esq.

Starting at the end, all newspapers have their opinions involved. There is no true straight up plan old newspaper with no slant. However we are giving opinions on the election, not reporting a news event. We have not distorted anyways words. The coalition of the young, was called dictator was spending their early time plotting behind closed doors. They didnt consult with others or bring in a third party or the media or any neutral witnesses at all. They obviously have secret documents written up and are trying to hide facts from the people, that is totaly wrong. We never called you facsists, merely trying to establish one order rule. Indeed the Unity party didnt spring up over night, neither did it form when a bunch of power-hungry people got together and conspired and schemed. People with similar goals formed a party, it wasnt a hidden afair like how your coalition was formed.
Indeed the UP has much experience, perhaps a little too much. However it is up to the people to decide whether they should put them in charge or you in charge, but at least they arent distorting the truth. Just how much is this proposed VAT? We all know we need a source of capital to rebuild the nation, the tax they propose is 6% nationally, what is yours? You speak of taxes but never mention a number or where they take effect. Will it be 1%, 5%, 75%? The people should know beforehand each campaigns method to rebuild from the storms and split up. If you want to get out from under the cloak and dagger shadow, bring the facts to light. What rate DO you propose?

Letter to the editor: In response to your lastest article
Mr. Lundgren, you may never claim I don't want people to hear my messege, because I could not be the sposkman of the biggest party of Eutopia if I didn't want people to hear my messege. And you can call me late, compared to other people, but you can also call the UP earlier compared to other people, can't that be?
And How can you know I was not waiting for the right moment? Should I have started my campaign before knowing if the P4P would not be in a coalition? As far as I know. This was the best moment and if you say there was a moment before where the P4P was not so strong as it is today. Please tell me!
Sincerely Jonh Kenny

Indeed i did call the UP early, as the papers show, however you followed up their jump start by sitting back. Indeed it is hard to campaign for presidency unless you know just who you are campaigning for, but nothing was holding back your party from starting its campaign for the assembly, unless ALL of them were at your back-room secret meetings? We are not campaigning for votes here, just trying to get the truth out. And the moment that is best for you, might not be best for the people of this troubled nation, but we shall see whos strategy plays out the best. Hopefully both campaigns will stay fairly clean and open minded.
