As MTIA, I will be trying to get the arms embargos lifted, but we need an alternative in case it fails. I understand that Russia and India are developing a new fighter. See what you can find out about it, and if we could participate. Alternatively, could try to get ENDTech to build our own version of some popular design.

In addition, we could build some remotely piloted vehicles that are armed and fast, not just for reconnaisance. More anti-aircraft capability could help as well. Take a look through the Tilly plan and pick out some ideas that are worth resurrecting.

Minister Truman,

Congratulations on your appointment. Let me know if there is anything that I or the armed forces can do for you.

It is my intention to initiate court martial proceedings against Admiral Henry J. Tulp for his actions or omissions relating to the Hainin Star incident. As the presiding judge determines, the Admiral may be charged with homicide, violations of the laws of war, piracy, manslaughter, illegal detention, and other charges as deemed appropriate. If he is found guilty, the Admiral may face punishments ranging from honorable discharge to death. If he is found not guilty, it is my intention that his career be otherwise unaffected by this court martial.

The presiding judge will be Vice Admiral Wayne Allortes, Commander of the Naval Academy. The other judges will be the Chief of the Office of Flight Safety Standards, the Naval Quartermaster, the Commander/OSO, and the Commander/LIRA. Prosecuting Attorney will be Colonel Irene Lader of the Navy Judge Advocate General Corps. Admiral Tulp will be given an opportunity to seek private counsel. Otherwise, counsel from Navy JAG will be provided.

Further, request permission to lower alert level and return all forces not currently involved in security operations to base.

On another matter, there are certain projects that you should be briefed on. Let me know when you will be available.

The Tilly plan was a great one, i must say, but first we need to have new equipment, we can't change the look of the armed forces without taking them from the sixties in wich they still are. I'm here to ask you to cooperate as much as possible with the President, to have the embrago lifted, we need to tie ourself with the rest of the world to resolve ur bad situation"

"There are many jobs in this ministry. We've got some vacant places in the Army and the Airforce, but we also got a place as Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of ENDTech. There are also jobs in the Security and Analysis Wing (SAW).

If you want to apply for one of those jobs we will need a copy of your citizens registry papers."

Frans,

I see that the least elderly planes in our airforce are the 24 F-5E Tiger II which were bought 1980. Similar planes have sold to many other nations, so it possible that we could possibly acquire some spare parts from one of the other countries. If you could provide OSI at this address with a list of spare parts needed, they will pass it on to a second-hand parts dealer that may be able to help us.

I assume that after we re-equip the airforce, these planes would converted to trainers, if we could continue getting parts, and most of the older ones would be scrapped.

I am in receipt of the list of needed spare parts, and will begin acquiring them immediately. However, given the age of the aircraft and the unavailabilty of parts directly from the United States, I may have to deal with certain 'questionable' parties. I therefore request a written immunity document that indicates that OSI and its employees will not be prosecuted for any reasonable activities undertaken during this procurement.

A press release of MDIS has just been published...

To all of you,
I've just accept the applications of Major Braxton, as CEO of ENDTech, and the one from Hapsburg, as Deputy MDIS.
Per Hapsburg will lead the (counter-)Intelligence (SAW, CIS and OSO), just like I was the previous term. The President has given his permission for both of the positions.

OOC: aussieboy, because I can not decide which rank you will get (in the army). You will need to send a message to the mods (I think Blade! or von Streusser). Say that you would like to become a small commander in the Eutopian Army, title/subject: 'Like to become...'. They will assign you a rank and place in a platoon.

Frans,

In my meetings with the Tilapian Ambassador, I discussed that we could be willing to sell some of the old Leopard I tanks we were taking out of service as we replaced them with the Gorgon II tanks. I also said that since our production run of Gorgon II tanks was coming close to the point where we would have fulfilled the original MDIS order, that we would also be willing to sell them some Gorgon II tanks to keep the production line running, and thereby keep from having to to lay off the workers. I will speak to the new CEO of ENDTech directly about that. They said they could be interest in some Gorgon II tanks as well. However, the amount they could buy, or we would be willing to sell them, would not be enough to keep the production line running for the rest of this term. Therefore, it is important to shift production over to another project if possible. I believe that a replacement for the M-113 infantry carrying somewhat armored vehicle has been designed. I think it is called the Hydra, but I am not sure. Please research the archives and begin the transistion in time to keep the production line employing people, and adapt whatever plan for defense spending you are preparing to reflect these upgrades. After the Hydra production run, I believe the next item would be new self propelled artillery. We probably wouldn't begin production this term, but we would need to complete design so that it is ready when we have spare capacity on your military vehicle assembly line. I am not prepared to invest to add capacity, such as another production line, at this time. Should the need arise in the future, we could go to double shifts or around the clock production, but that is not necessary at present.

In the meantime, please work out an appropriate price to sell the old Leopard I tanks to Tilapians. I had assumed a half million each, which is one seventh the cost of the new Gorgon II's but I would like to get your input on this before I communicate it to the Tilapians.
