After a war with Spain I gave my brazilian colony some provinces, however they didn't want one of the provinces so it fell to me.
It will be impossible for me to core it, and my colony don't want to buy it from me.

When I try to sell it to a portugese colonial nation with a claim it says that I can not make it a core.
Does this mean that I have to be able to make my province a core in order to sell it?
Am I stuck with this landlocked province?

I suppose I could wait for rebels but it will bring me unnecessary overextension for a while.

Your colony might be restricted from buying the province due to over extension if you sold them other provinces. If you wait a bit, your colony might take this province after they have cored the others and reduced OE in the process.

Yeah, but they don't have core, claim or the same culture.

It says that they haven't previously owned the province. However, they did not have claim or anything on half of the other provinces
they got but they still got them. I think it was about 4-5 provinces.

It seems kinda weird, I mean sometimes the colony gets adjecent provinces despite being outside their region, and sometimes they don't
get them at all. However I have always managed to make another colonial nation or just make the "extra" province a core. However this
time it doesn't seem possible to do anything like that with it.

If you can't core a province, you can't sell it to anyone either (even if they have a core on it). I learned this the hard way when I tried to sell Timbuktu first to my protectorate (Songhai) and then back to Mali.
