Hello to all the respected members in this forum,

I purchased the game EU3: DW from Steam with 5.1(BJLT) patch.
I have the following questions and I hope you will be able to help out.

(1) I am currently playing as Manchu. The year is 1597. I westernized once into Muslim Tech. I am not engaging in any wars and my gold coffers looks satisfactory.
However, I am not able to use the "sell province" function. I wanted to sell some of my province in the African continent to a Western power. How do I activate the "sell province" function?
The function is workable for Western nation such as France, Portugal, Austria etc. Is it because I am playing as an Asian country?

(2) I am playing with the Historical Lucky Nation activated. I have a province bordering the French Empire. I have a feeling that in a few years time, France is going to declare war on my country.
Does increasing the relation to 200 helps deter France to look elsewhere to expand? I have given a military access to France.
What determine the A.I. Aggressiveness for a country like France? Will A.I. declare war despite getting hit with -6 stability (-2 for great relation and -5 for military access)?

(3) I am currently in a personal union with Japan. However, Japan has not been unified yet.
I received a border dispute event and received a core on Mutsu province which currently is being held by the Taira Clan.
If I were to declare war on Taira, will that disrupt my personal union with Japan?

I attached my latest game file for your kind perusal. View attachment Manchu1597_01_01.rar

Thank you for your time and have a nice day!

1) If you are at war you cannot sell provinces. If they are at war they cannot receive your offer to sell. Likely, this is the case. If not, I have no idea.

2) In all of my games the AI has never declared war on me without cancelling military access first, so that is a good warning for when to mobilize against their border. Remember to scorch the land and retreat until their doomstacks have been decimated by attrition, then deal a deadly blow to it. Rinse and repeat until their war exhaustion forces peace. It helps deterring war if you have an empire with more provinces than them, and to be allied with somebody else who also has a comparable empire. With such good relations, the only reason I can imagine them declaring war is if they had a core on one of your provinces or if they had a mission to attack you.

3) I have no idea how the shogunate works, sorry. In my experience, a personal union means that the nation is literally a part of your realm, just a different color and controlled by the AI. They have no diplomacy outside of your own. Essentially, you are playing as two nations at once. Therefor, my best guess is that if you went to war with Taira, Japan would be perfectly fine with it. But again, I don't know how the shogunate works. Your best bet is to save-scum into and out of the war to try it out.

Having high relations will decrease the likelihood that you will be attacked, though it won't guarantee your safety. Having given military access to them is likely to give you 1 month's warning before they invade, as they will probably cancel it beforehand. On the other hand, sometimes they don't do that and are willing to take the -5 stab hit.
