I want to be able to give away provinces as gift or bribery or plain just "I dont want to have your lousy russians in my Imperial master piece"

Also Sell a provinces would be nice and it didnt happen in real history to. And Trade provinces, often also happended. Atleast after battles.

AFAIK, this has been done in ottoman history. This is not out of reality and can be added.

I know for a fact we've had this discussion already, because I quoted the rules from the board game to handle this. I just don't remember what the thread title was.

This is a feature I like about Victoria, the tech/money/land trading option, but it shouldn't be easily exploited and a country shouldn't be very likely to sell one of it's national culture provinces.

A better peace system is highly desired from my side, I mean if the war was horrible for both sides one could get some land areas and the other war subsidizes.

France sold Lousiana, and Russia sold Alaska, so IT really happened in real history.
It'd be great to give away provinces, sometimes you have a lonely province somewhere you don't want which could be given to your vassal or ally.

Something else that might merit inclusion.
It would be fun, and realistic i think, if you could force another country to release a vassal, or even transfer vassalage of a country to you as a result of peacetreaties.

Yes, Sweden tried to force the russians to realese Novgorod as a vassal state to Sweden.

Also, selling of a provinces you dont need or think is in an area with high risk of getting invaded.

EDIT: More power over vassals to, most kings had there armies from vassals, haden't they? Right now your own vassal can invade you or get into stupid wars.

Definitely its very annoying not being able to vassalise France's vassals.
To be able to trade and sell provinces would be nice but I definitely want to be able to give provinces away.

It would also be nice if countries made demands before they declared war. Sometimes at the moment you have fight a war to lose a province that you were more than happy to give for free in the first place

I missed most of the suggestions mentioned earlier in this thread in EUII. I would really like to have vassals as more important in peacetreaties, and would really love the option to force a country to release a third.

As an own suggestion, I would really like to see the option to lease provinces as part of treaties. It was used extensively in the part of history that EU takes place, yet the option is not available. Forcing your enemy to give up a province for say, 25, 50, 75 or 100 years would give place to quite interesting strategies, as well as giving an option in wars were your total victory % might not be that high.
If the country that gives up the provinces is annexed by a third nation with claims on the provinces, it could be given to them when when the times run up, or alternately being a good cause for war if the first part refuses to give it up.

Yes, Sweden tried to force the russians to realese Novgorod as a vassal state to Sweden.

Sweden also tried to force Poland to let go of Lithuania which would become a Swedish puppet.

Later, in 1654, during the Swedish invasion of Poland, known as Potop (The Deluge), together with his cousin Boguslaw (son of Janusz I and his second wife Elzbieta Zofia von Hohenzollern, daughter of the Elector of Brandenburg), they began negotiations with Gustavus Adolphus, King of Sweden, aimed at breaking the union between Poland and Lithuania. As a result, they signed a treaty according to which they were to rule over two sovereign principalities carved up from the lands of the Grand Duchy, which were to remain under the Swedish protectorate.

I think that province exchange is extremly important and it must be implementet into the game.
First it is very realistic. In that era it was common for rulers to sell, give or exchange their lands and it is much easier than make events for every little trade which cant be done exactly the same as in history. Circumstances are different.
Second in EUII it was impossible to get rid of some province if it wasnt in some revolters file.
If that will be done for EU3 it will be big step forward.

Is there any news from Johan or someone else about this?

Its a very good idea, but i think that the AI should never, under any circumstance, accept a trade for one of its core provinces. Also, they should be prepared to pay quit a bit if you offer them one of their cores back, for example, as England in the 1492 scenario, it would save me so much bother to just sell calais to the french instead of witing for the to declare war, and then not accept in in a peace treaty

Also, forcing a country to release vassals is a very good idea, and so is the elasing idea. Except, if the country that owns the 'freehol'd is annexed, then who ever has the lease would keep it permanantly, a la britain with cyprus (ottoman empire went, so they just annexed it fully).

Even if they're offering you 5 of your core provinces in trade, and the province they're offering to buy is one of their core provinces? I think "never" is a little strong. Rather, the AI should compute its monthly income before and after the trade, and then add a modifier based on the net number of cores gained, probably specified in the AI file so we can tinker with it.

I agree with Andy-man about cores, but I dont like the idea of selling or exchanging techs at all. It is not characteristic for that period. I think that good old neighbor bonus is enough.
