  • Europa Universalis III Complete
Hi everyone!
I too embarked on the little EIC bandwagon. So far, it looks like a rather small-ish EU III sub-game evolution in a way that EU III is/was a big momma of a strategy game monster. Great game all strategy and no tactical part. EIC has the tactical aspect and a nice eye-canny one (reminds me much on the old Port Royale (played only the first of the series). After all these years, I still play Patrician (Gold edition) which is much more complex (but much simplier naval battles)than EIC in my opinion.
Now, on topic: what strategy you guys use to maximize your profit? I used to have trade fleets on automatic which just flooded my home market and killed the price. Right now, in my first grand campaign, I am planning to conquer those couple ports close to my homeport (Lisboa-Portugal, I love easy games you see). That way I will be able to stock more goods in THEIR warehouses and unload everything into the market when the price is right. How about the trading with the AI (diplomacy)? Usually I get great deals in trading with them? I don't see anyone writing about that. How come? You all kill off every competition very early in the game or what? I killed 'only' 2 (it is only 30 years in the game) of the competing Ai companies because....there in my way by conquering some ports I wanted for myself, and then...well, some kind of snowball-effect happened and they are dead. Nevermind, do you plan your trade MTI-hauling trips or just stuff......stuff in your home port warehouse and in a bunch of large cargo-hold ships/fleets back home or?
Just looking for some tips from veteran EIC players.
