A very impressed set of events. I downloaded them but just read in your post that they are tailored for HSR. I take it that means there's event ID's refered to that's exclusive for that mod. A while back I was thinking of making a tool that read a textfile containing events for vanilla. The user checked the ones he/she wanted and then they were incorporated into the game. When you no longer wanted them you just opened the tool up and unchecked the events.

Hmm, we'll see what comes next (after the loss counter tool).

All the event IDs are unique and will work in both HSR and vanilla. Its the leader and minister IDs that are taylored to HSR, although in most cases they will work in both. I'll have to double check to be sure. Also I noticed that these events have tech teams and countries I've created that I neglected to include in the download :(. IIRC the New Kriegsmarine has a few tech teams added, and the Vichy England series has a new country Wales that doesn't exist. I'll be happy to provide all necessary extras I've ommitted once I find them :D. If you notice anything, please let me know. Otherwise, enjoy!

PS...I remember seeing a thread about the loss counter tool, but I can't seem to find it anymore. Any news on when it will be completed and how I can get my hands on it? Thanx in advance!

The tool is still in development but it's slowly taking form. If you like you can check out my blog where I keep posting updates. There's also a download area where interesting stuff is placed.

I would love to know when those extra goodies would be available to fully flesh out the events.

Invert: Yeah, i downloaded all of your events, added some of then and now Doomsday doesn't work. Maybe i should delete the Vichy England-event series...

What may the problem be if not the Vichy England-stuff?

The problem seems to be the bad line "9461" with an "unkown hls"... :wacko:

Placed in hoi2.txt, where i've put the most events... Except for the soviet events and germany events

It wouldn't be the Vichy England events as even if the extras aren't in place the events will still fire and the commands that can't be accomplished will simply be ignored. I can't say for sure what the problem might be, as you said you only added some events. Usally when it says "unknown hls" that means some command has been mispelled on that particular line of code. My advice would be to open whatever file you placed my events in, go to line 9461, and search for mispelled words. Also make sure all the brackets are in place. Most likely, when u copied and pasted my events, a bracket was left off at the end. This happens a lot.

Minister and Leader IDs should all be accurate. Its taken a lot of painstaking testing to come to sucha simple conclusion, but there you are.

Add these tech teams to Germany's tech team file, and be sure to remove the existing teams with the same number or they will not work.

17;Neukriegsmarinewerft;T307;6;1970;1930;naval_engineering;aeronautics;technical_efficiency;electronics;naval_artillery;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;x

10;Deutsch Flottestutzpunkt;T110;6;1970;1970;naval_training;seamanship;small_taskforce_tactics;large_taskforce_tactics;carrier_tactics;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;x

The pics for these teams are pre-existing IIRC.

Unfortunately I cannot seem to find Wales :( I must have forgotten to save it during a re-install or something, but in any case, this really will only change the events slightly, and if you diddn't know Wales was supposed to be there you wouldn't know it was missing :D. I'll get working on creating it again so the events can work as intended but until then (hopefully) enjoy, and feel free to offer your feedback.

Invertigo2004, thank you for sharing those very nice events. I do have a question, though. You said the events work best with HSR. However, seeing that Bitter Peace is a trigger for some of them and HSR changes chances for Stalin sueing for peace to 1%, have you kept the bitter peace chance at 1% or have you changed it? If you have, what number have you been using?

I changed the Bitter Peace considerably actually, and I'd quite forgotten about it. HSR makes the Soviet Union completely unwilling to surrender with its 1% ai chance, so I upped it to 65 (with refusal at 35 of course). This number is somewhat arbitrary, chosen not so much for historical accuracy as for the necessity of some chance of peace in the East. Also, I changed the trigger, the reason being the original trigger required Leningrad, Moscow, Stalingrad, Baku, and Sverdlovsk before it would trigger an event that wouldn't help anyway if Stalin refuses to surrender...rather pointless in my opinion. So i added some extra necessary provinces, lengthened the offset to 30, and lowered the random to 25, making the event more difficult to fire, but at least having a good chance to result in peace. The new trigger looks like this
trigger = {
random = 25
war = { country = GER country = SOV }
control = { province = 56 data = GER } # Paris is not free
NOT = {
control = { province = 187 data = SOV } # Leningrad has fallen
control = { province = 163 data = SOV } # Stalingrad has fallen
control = { province = 175 data = SOV } # Moscow has fallen
control = { province = 1907 data = SOV } # Baku has fallen
control = { province = 154 data = SOV } #Archangelsk has fallen
control = { province = 1830 data = SOV } #Syrazan has fallen
control = { province = 1838 data = SOV } #Astrakhan has fallen
alliance = { country = GER country = JAP }
}
}

I removed Sverdlovsk on the assumption Hitler would be unwilling to abandon any important land he seized from Stalin. Note this trigger is for when Japan is not Axis, which is usually the case in HSR. Don't forget to change the offset to 30! :D

Ah, thank you! I better start inserting those new lines to the files... :D

One more question, though; why did you use id 10 and 17 for those new German tech teams? 10 is vacant in HSR but 17 is Heinkel. Any particular reason for removing Heinkel as it's the only bomber tech team until 1939 for Germany?

I removed Heinkel becuase I felt Germany was overloaded on air tech teams. If you'd like to keep it you'll have to choose another team to lose and then switch the numbers around in the events. To me, Heinkel is the team that will be least missed, and so off it went. Just personal preference really.
