Self-Ordering Units

I just want to know if anyone else has seen this behaviour, or if I am missing something really obvious, but I have a problem that my armoured units are going off to Support Defence orders without me telling them to. Never happened to be in HoI2. Playing as USA in 1936 scenario, and am intervening in France in 1940.

Is there some automatic ordering tab I haven't noticed? Or does this sound like a bug (I have reproduced this behaviour on two occasions).

I've noticed the same thing. My HQ unit (USA, DD-scen.) had a will of its own and kept running around on support defence missions. I cancelled the mission several times but it keeps coming back.
