An important part of Crusader Kings II is making sure you have a suitable heir to pass your realm onto. This can mean simply going with the first heir as he is competent enough, or a complex network of assasinations and political intrigue to ensure a capable heir inherits. This challenge is about reversing that. You try to ensure your heirs are as useless as possible, then play as that terrible heir, and continue the process of increasingly inept rule until your dynasty collapses under vassal rebellion.

Rules:

1. Start at the earliest date available, 1066. For more insane collapsing, pick a large realm (kingdom or bigger). No custom rulers allowed
2. Play through each ruler while ensuring your heir is as terrible as possible.
3. Whenever your current character dies, pause the game and total up the Dreadful Dynasty score for that character (explained later, but dependent on Realm Size and Traits)
4. Continue play as the new, hopefully terrible heir. Good luck, and remember to try to set up your next heir to be even worse!
5. Play continues until its game over for whatever reason. At which point, add up your Dreadful Dynasty scores for all your characters to get your final score.

Scoring:

The Dreadful Dynasty score of a character is calculated from the trait score multiplied by your realm size at death. You won't score much if you just hide as a single count in the corner of the map.

The trait score is determined by adding up the values of your traits. Most traits are relatively minor and do not affect your trait score. Sufficiently bad traits will increase your trait score, and sufficiently good traits will actually reduce your trait score. It is possible to have a negative trait score and therefore a negative Dreadful Dynasty score.. Congenital traits have a greater effect than their statistics modifier would usually suggest, as they affect your dynasty in the long-term.

Bad trait scoring
+4 Imbecile
+4 Inbred
+3 Incapable
+3 Slow
+2 Infirm
+2 Possessed
+2 Lunatic
+2 Weak
+1 Blinded
+1 Depressed
+1 Detached Priest
+1 Misguided Warrior
+1 Indulgent Wastrel
+1 Naive Appeaser
+1 Amateurish Plotter
+1 Homosexual
+1 Clubfooted
+1 Harelip
+1 Hunchback
+1 Lisp
+1 Stutter
+1 Ugly
+1 Dwarf
+1 Slothful

Good Trait Penalties
-4 Genius
-3 Quick
-2 Strong
-2 Elusive Shadow
-2 Grey Eminence
-2 Midas Touched
-2 Brilliant Strategist
-2 Mastermind Theologian
-1 Intricate Webweaver
-1 Charismatic Negotiator
-1 Fortune Builder
-1 Skilled Tactician
-1 Scholarly Theologian
-1 Attractive

Example
A character dies with the following traits:
Glutinous (0)
Arbitrary (0)
Slow (+3)
Attractive (-1)
Scholary Theologian (-1)
Homosexual (+1)
Trusting (0)

His trait score is +2. Additionally, his realm size was 41. Therefore, the Dreadful Dynasty score for this character is 41*2 = 82

I like this idea, but shouldn't gluttonous and arbitrary give points?

I decided that Gluttonous and Arbitrary were not sufficiently bad to be worth points. Additionally, as with all of the seven sin traits, they frequently appear and disappear, which diminishes the effect of trying to pick a terrible heir.

Love the idea, although I won't be the one trying it :)

Btw, is the negative traits all you need for scoring positively? How do you score realm size? The bigger the better, I say!

Also, I suggest you up the score weight of those extreme traits like inbred or imbecile, cuz it's not so easy to have them, and when you do, it's damn hard to set that idiot as a heir - chances are he/she won't be your child. Guys above mentioned kinslayer or excommunicated - you should definately update your list!

Also, having a genius or a quick heir should immediately disqualify you in my book...

Ah, I suppose I can't use the "marry_anyone" cheat and have sex with my sisters can I?

pollinate [female ID] [male ID]

You're welcome. You can have 100 purebred superhuman brats by your sister, and legitimize every one, without even marrying her.
Actually, you don't even need to legitimize them. No matter what you do, they'll be of your dynasty.
Even better if you find the event that makes lovers.

One suggestion: multiply each ruler’s score by the length of his or her reign (then possibly divide by 20). That way, you score by having the worst possible rulers, not by having many bad rulers.
