How else do you get the trait? I know there must be another way, because I've seen my ruler's children get it a couple of times, and they certainly weren't converts. I've also seen a pagan character who had sympathy for Christians, sympathy for Muslims, sympathy for Jews, and sympathy for Buddhists, though I guess that could have been the result of multiple conversions.

If you have Conclave children with Curious might develop Sympathy for <other religion> as they grow up. The trait most commonly shows up though when a character is asked to convert by their liege. If they comply they get sympathy for their old religion.

Dragatus is right, you can get it from the curious childhood trait/thrift focus too, that fact that she is stewardship education suggests that might have happened here. I think you need a member of another religion in your court though?

Maybe it's a bug and it fired with an orthodox courtier? Dunno.

The only other place I've seen the "sympathy for" trait happen is the mystic event chain in scholarship focus.

"Sympathy for" can also be gained during a Pilgrimage, but AFAIK you can only get Sympathy for Islam and Sympathy for Judaism this way

She is secretly of another religion but has managed to fool everyone into believing that she is a good Catholic. If her stats had been better and her traits had been more sinful I would say that you had a demonspawn on your hands, but she probably is some kind of lesser evil.
