So after reading about lend lease and which minor would be the best to play with, what is to stop me as Turkey, Bulgaria, etc. from pushing myself into a a civil war and seeking lend lease from like aligned nations.

For all effect I win the war and push my opponents into a pocket and then........just not finish the war. Just keep getting more and more lend lease until I am a true regional force and expand quickly once true war breaks out in '39.

Just a query if anyone knows.

Well, if you're going to be sucking off your allies, they'll eventually have to finish.

Ok ok, we don't really know how it all works, and we probably won't unless someone important answers this thread or until the game comes out.

Seems like a somewhat gamey case that I suspect they wouldn't think of in base test cases, but I think the question would come down to how much lend-lease an AI major will allow at max to an ally, and how quickly your regional war would accelerate world tension and those majors' going in to their own wars.

You could do this same thing in HoI 3. Start a war and never finish it so that you could continue to receive war-time bonuses.

It's gamey. There's probably going to be lots of gamey things you could do.

Nothing really new here...

Oh I know, I love AAR's but really found the using allies armies to take down other nations and they got nothing as a bit of a pet hate.

I would just think that getting fascist revolutionaries in somewhere like Turkey by 1937 is going to mean you can spend up big on infra/factories and use lend lease to win your war. Would like to see that the more a faction pours troops/equipment into your nation the more they will demand from you. Perhaps after a year of lend lease the faction may demand that you join with them.

I think the title is okay, after all we all want to keep our allies happy.

Exactly there will always be people who look for ways to game the system. That's fine, it's their game, but that doesn't mean 99.9% of other players will do the same. So you wanna suck the life out of your allies, that's fine, it's your campaign.

When you really don't want to end a war as Japan or Germany because otherwise the IC needed to support the populace will cripple you, so you just declare war on Honduras to make sure no one gives a fuck...

A civil war should have a negative effect on your country. So it should be in everyones interest to end the civil war and not let it run endlessly to get rid of those effects and return to a stable country again.

That said if there are no penalties for being in a civil war in HOI4 this might be a working exploit.

We don't know to much about how civil war will work. Maybe the game is designed so you want to finish it as quickly as possible. Lend lease also help the giver as you use lend leased equipment it will give experience to the giver who can then improve on their designs.

@frolix42

Quite a read, thank you very much.

I assume your first HoI IV mini-mod is confirmed, then?

I would agitate for Turkish Minister with that name to exist somewhere in vanilla HoI4. There was a strange thread about HoI "roleplay community" a while ago, where people were pretending to be countries, ideologies, ministers. I know who I would want to be.

Mustapha Kunt WC imminent.
