Hi Everyone,

First off, I've never mod'd anything so please keep any advice suggestions as basic as possible please! The sheet amount of stuff it seems possible to do is quite daunting! :)

Anyway: I'm a huge fan of the Papacy, and now that the Papal States/Romagna exists in game I'd like to play a game working for the Papacy, trying to bring Italy under the unifying banner of Christ! Along the way try and get a cardinal or two, maybe even Pope, recover the Holy Land - all the good christian goals.

Now I think this would be made a lot easier if the Pope was an Emperor level title - so that I can actually hold Kingdom titles and still be a papal vassal, rather than being a ridiculous duke with more titles than fingers! It makes historical sense too, given the Papal claims to supremacy over all secular titles (including the HRE).

So, can someone help me with this? I'm hoping its as simple as opening the right folder and changing a line or two... please let me know! If there are any other problems this might cause please mention those too!

Thanks in advance
Cardinal Borgia, servus servi dei.

It's easy to change papacy into empire-tier, but it's another to make sure every decision and event is compatible with it.
You have to mod landed_title.txt, change k_papacy to e_papacy, then rename the flag for papacy to match its new tier, go to gfx/flags and rename k_papacy.dds to e_papacy.dds. After that you also have to change every line with k_papacy in decisions and events to e_papacy.
I hope I'm being clear here, english isn't my native tongue ;)

There's mod for playing as the Pope if you're interested, you can play as cardinal and make (or buy) your way to the Holy See.
