Hi all,

I am new to Cities in Motion and generally enjoying the game and I am seeking confirmation on some game play observations I have.

Firstly traffic appears to only occur around my bus routes. It would seem to me that after I put in a bus service the car traffic will increase and lead to congestion.

Which leads onto the next observation that altering a route almost always reset the buses on the route? Additionally there seems that without any major changes to the bus route it will go from boom to bust in no time. An example of this is when I see too many buses waiting in line I create a bus stop across the road and that is the only change and in no time that route goes into bust.

It would appear that having bus routes use the same bus stop is 10x better than having two with one on each side of the road.

Is there a way aside from putting in unnecessary stops in to make a bus go a different route? I find that they seem to find the most congested points as a matter of course.

Is there a mod that makes the infrastructure costs and the likes more expensive but not over the top such as is the case with the Changed Prices 3.0 mod? As it is at the moment in the 1st year it does seem as if there will never be any real issue keeping in the black.

Thanks in advance.

This is actually not so: this is a product of the fact that the buses stop on the road and cause car delays, as well as the increase in pedestrians walking across the road. This makes the delays more pronounced than otherwise, but traffic does not actually increase.

It seems the opposite to me. With more lines you have more passengers waiting on the same place, this can cause "pedestrian jams", such as passengers interfering each other, so they will need more time to fill the bus. More time for the bus will lead to more buses waiting near the stop, this will lead to traffic jams.

Having 2 bus stops on opposite sides of the road might get you a constant stream of people crossing the road and blocking the traffic. This might be worse than one overcrowded stop. I don't think there is one definitive solution, each situation has it's own unique solution - and it's up to you to find it.
