See Cities: Skylines - After Dark Light Up in a New Scenic Trailer

Hear about Building a City-building Game at PAX Prime
STOCKHOLM – Aug. 28, 2015 — Paradox Interactive, a publisher of games that pays their electric bills on time, today released a new trailer for “After Dark,” the first expansion for the smash-hit city-building game Cities: Skylines. The trailer features an extensive look at the beautiful new nighttime city-scapes in After Dark.

After Dark will release worldwide on September 24, 2015 on PC, Mac and Linux, and developer Colossal Order will appear this week at PAX to speak with their players and talented mod-makers who have helped the game turn into a best-seller.

Take a look at After Dark and see some nighttime cities in motion in the trailer, here:

Paradox and Colossal Order will host a panel tonight at PAX Prime in Seattle, titled “Modding 101: A Crash Course for Cities: Skylines,” where aspiring modders can get tips from experts and learn not only how to make mods for the city-building game, but guidelines on how to make and share mods in general. Creators and fans alike can attend the panel tonight, August 28, at 7:00 p.m. PDT in the Hydra Theatre, or watch online at www.twitch.tv/pax2

In After Dark, players of Cities: Skylines will get a chance to see what their city residents get up to once the sun goes down. Towns will look – and behave – differently at night, and citizens will seek out new evening hotspots such as nightclubs, bars, and more. New city services will make sure that nighttime revelers get home safe in new in-game taxis, while those who get too irresponsible may find themselves in new in-game prisons.

That is like 7 AM in central Europe. :(

I thought it's about 04:00.

That's why most sane people use GMT and the local time so that the hard-of thinking like me can actually work out when it is

considering that time... I might watch that with blurred eyes

It looks really great though. I especially like the skybox at sunset/sunrise

Looks excellent! Really excited about it! I was hoping that the simulation will slow down a bit, it still looks like everything operates at the speed of sound

Also in the last part of this video you see all the lights turning off at once on a building.. Would be really cool if you could find a way to have them randomly turn on and off like a sparkle effect. I'm sure there is probably a way to do it seeing how you made the game recognize and make lights randomly turn on using 128-255. Also would be really cool if you could make lights turn on and off very very slowly at night like people were coming in and out of their offices or something.

THE GODDAMN PARKED CARS protrude into my damn buslane! I hate this dumbheads, they make life difficult for me, haha

Those might be bike lanes, there's not a single bus stop on those long stretches of road.

And bike lanes should be available for small, medium & large roads - so that people can use the upgrade tool.

But you can see bikers using sidewalk instead of red lanes. Maybe marketing team used user content again? xD

It annoys me normally how much DLC comes out for games and how much they try to milk it, like they already planned it before release, so much so it effected the state of the core game,

This its the other way round, they arent coming quick enough, they need to work faster. Hire more staff, work nights, rush it out the door half finished like the big companies do so well, I already have my wishlists for the next three DLCs.

Looks great. My only issue is that the reflections show a daytime city (the same one you see reflected in all your buildings at day). They should reflect a night time scene, IMO.
In general, the reflections need to be improved in this game. Add some blur/diffuse effects to the reflections so it's not quite so obvious that they're reflecting a completely different city than your own.

Also, do the buildings go dark if they have no power or get flooded?
