hi,

I am starting a Crusader Kings II AAR, but I won't let my HOI3 an MOTE one drop! I will play the nation of sweden, with every dlc exept sunset invasion. I use the ruler desinger to make the 'Från Falun' family. It will be in history book style, and i hope you enjoy it! Start date will be 1066.

Chapter I, the Swedish civil war.

in the year of our king 1062, the Swedish people revolted against the king, he was a Tyran. in 2 years the Swedes controlled the north of the kingdom, as well as the merchant republic of Gotland. But in April 1065 King Harald of Norway sent 12000 men reinforcements to the king. the Swedes were driven back and in August, the king stands with his army on the gates of Falun, in middle Sweden. The father of Pär was a general in the Swedish Army, but Pär supported the Swedes, and in September he joined the free forces. By the famous battle of Falun, where 15000 men of the king against 5000 swedes fought, he killed his father and his 2 brothers, together with another 30 Swedes. He was a hero, the kings army was defeated and he was called a Viking. The next year he defeated army after army, and besieged city after city. And by June 1066 the King was killed by his hand, but so was the leader of the revolt killed by the king. He was called the new king of Sweden, at 20, he became King. he was called Från Falun, Because his Victory. but now, only a few months after his victory, Sweden was unstable again, He has many friends, but many more enemies.

Chapter II, Erik The Heathen

In september 1066 Our king married the wonderfull Sigrid, she was the daughter of an poor peasant family. On 17 December 1066 Erik, called the heathen, demanded the trone of Sweden, another civil war has broken out. In sodermansland was thee first batlle fought. Pär, king of Sweden, was attacked by 460 rebels, while he only has 100 men. However after 2 days of Brutal fighting, the army of his marchall arrived, and the rebels where defeated. 145 Swedes lost their lives, but 350 rebels were killed. In the mean time limited crown authority was approved by the lords of Sweden. many cities and villages where plundered by the rebels in sodermansland, so the citizens were unable to pay the taxes. However, the king was mercyfull, and the taxes were lowered to minimal. After one year of fighting, on 26 november, a daughter was born, she was called 'Aletta'. On 20 december Erik the Heathen surrendered and was imprisoned..

Chapter III: spread of Catholicism

Erik the heathen was free, for a price of 70 ducats, but he was still a danger. Even without all his titles, he MUST be eliminated. A plot was set up, but it was after an half year discovered. 100 ducats was the price for the secret. However, this plot was not the only one in Sweden, rumors were that Erik has set up a plot for the dead of Pär I. In the sumer of 1069 a summer fair was organised, it was the best time of the year for the peasants. On 28 December Greger was born, this was the first son of Pär, and the heir of the kingdom of Sweden. But the peacefull nation was soon dragged into another war, Erik the heaten his complot was discovered, and one lord broke away from our rule.

After this victory another revolt was put down, glory to Pär I! Not much later Äsjborn was born. On 27 December 1072 a decleration of war was send to the count of Dal. Dal is a small county that broke away under Swedish rule a decade ago. New Year was bad, the measles broke out in Gotland. On 16 may 1073 Dal was again under Swedish rule. In the mean time catholicism has been spread further north, it is maybe time to bring those Swedes back under our rule. The Red line was Catholic in 1060, the blue is it in 1073.

Chapter IV: The first Pagan War

In May 1073, King Pär invaded angermansland, Pagan controlled territory. Angermansland was supported by other Pagan rulers in the north. In the decisive battle the ruler of Vasterbotten was captured, 2 months later, on the summer fair of 1075, he was executed, his son was only 2 years old, and the country was unstable. THe war ended after 3 years, on May 16. A grand tournament was holded, and every lord in Sweden was invited. During the tournament a summer fair was hosted, making the summer of 1076 the most happiest one in the world. Lord Magnus was the winner. On 17 September, Norrland or Vasterbotten was invaded, only the pagans of Kola Sami joined the war. and on 3 August 1077, the war ended. Kola Sami agreed to pay Sweden 5 months later, and the nation was at peace again. On 11 august 1078 Finland was invaded, and Sweden won this war too, Making this the nation of Sweden

This is a great aar and I would like to see longer posts if possible. Don't be discouraged too much by the lack of comments, there are usually many lurkers who simply don't usually have much to say. I'm enjoying the aar and hope it'll make it to the end. Also holy rus, that is certainly going to make eastward expansion very hard.

Chapter V: The Bewitched

While the king was closing in to its 50, it was not going great with him. In January 1088 he tried to arrest Grand Mayor Bostain I of Gotland, resulting in a war. By his vassals and enemies he was called 'The Bewitched', and even worse, he was called a Tyran. In January 1091 a Crusade for Jerusalem was called, however, he was still at war with Gotland, and he doesn't joined the crusade. On 7 February 1092 The Grand Mayor of Gotland was imprisoned. In that summer his forces set sail to Estonia, to make it a part of the Swedish Kingdom, on 1 January 1095 Estonia was under Swedish rule. One of the enemies of king Pär Duke Inge I of Norddland, arranged that King Pär was excommunicated by the pope of Rome. Pär was Insane now, he tried to imprison his own son, because he wanted to change a law, resulting in another civil war. Large parts of Middle Sweden and th finish holdigns broke away. IN November 1096 His son was locked up. However, only 3 months earlier King Pär has recieved a huge blow on his head, and he was in coma by the end of the war. On 27 May 1097 he died, and the new king of Sweden was King Greger I! In june the crusade was called a failur.

Chapter VI: Dead and Glory

On 22 February 1104 Swedish solders attacked the last Pagan lord in Scandinavia, the nation of Karelia. On 30 April the son of the king dies at the age of 11. The war ended in February 1106. Greger, king of Sweden, was crowned to king of Finland. Norway was in the mean time in a bloody civil war. Greger make profit out of this situation by attacking the revolting Nation of Lapland in November. On 12 September 1107 the war was over, the glorieus Armies of Sweden were victorieus, and Sweden was almost united. However, King Greger was murdered on 8 October 1108, his brother Äjborn became th new king. Under the rule of Asjborn the county if Nyland falls under Swedish control. But murderes struck again, it was a black ages for Sweden. On 31 Decelber 1108 he was murdered, and the new king was his brother Albrikt!

Chapter VII: The 'Bloody' Swedish civil war.

Albrikt of Sweden was one of the greatest kings in Swedish history. 2 Months after the dead of Äsbjorn he finished the war with Ingria ( was an ally of Nyland), resulting in a crushing victory. But the young king has many of the enemies of Greger against him. The oldest lords were fighting against the Fran Falun family for decades, and are still supporting the king who was slain by Pär I. To easy the tensions, he holded a grand tournament. It started on 5 December 1109. However, during the tournament a civil war errupted. Albrikt falled sick after the tournament, and he died on 2 october 1111. Bror was the new king of Sweden. On 21 January 1113 the knights of St. John were founded. On 19 June the rebels were defeated.

Chapter VIII:The Second Crusade

On 17 July 1127 pope Lando II declared the second crusade to Jerusalem. On 28 December of that year, Sweden joined the crusade. 3200 Swedes landed in Arsuf, to support the catholis army. Later there are 3000 more Swedes send, and there were send to besiege Jerusalem. It looked like the war was won, the main Muslim amry was defeated, at the cost of only 4000 christians. But on 15 July 1130 disaster struck, the Swedish army was defeated, leaving the 6000 men Catholic army encirceld. Sweden would send another 20000 men of Soldiers in the next years, but the war was not turned. by September 1134 but It was all lost. The crusade was not yet over, but Sweden decided to not send more forces, in the war 346679 Swedes and Mercaneries were killed. Norway lost 85708, and the knights Templar 71346. This losses were huge, and the Swedish popultion lost 1/4 of his people. This was the Swedish empire then:
