I’ve a similar issue. When I create a robots only colony to settle on a planet that I cannot possibly colonize otherwise, and then put this planet into a sector, the sector doesn’t seem to take into account the fact that my colony has no organic life, and will never have one.

I’ve found three major issues, the first one is that those colonies will focus on food, when it’s useless for robots, and then build some clinics, when robots basically ignore habitability, and the last one is that they build very few robots, I’ve see a colony under a sector build one robot, but I’m pretty sure they dissolve it after few years, or the unit migrated.

Hope it’ll get fixed.

I currently use no sectors at all anymore. Instead I accept that influence and energy credit penalty.

Sectors is a failed feature.
what is the cap on the penalty? I could see running 7/5 but 40/5 might be completely undoable (not to mention just no fun at all). I am hoping you never intend to play multi-player. It is one thing to micro that many planets when you are free to pause as often as you like. MP is a different animal altogether.

Sectors are broken. The AI is either stupid or flat out broken by not using slaves correctly, building farm son a robot planet. In combination, there aren't enough options to compensate for the broken/retarded AI.

I don't want you to "ignore tile bonuses", BUT I don't want you to build 5 farms! I don't want to set a "focus", which results in the AI wrecking everything to generate as much from that resource as possible and totally ignoring the other one. I want to set a "ratio" of sorts.

I don't think anyone is demanding perfect building placements and 100% efficiency, but what we have right now is simply not acceptable and should not have been released.
It's so blatantly broken, everyone who pays attention notices it immediately.

I found the compromiss of using my androids only on the best planets I use to manage myself. The entire rest of my empire is now one big sector.
Which is also an exppoit as outposts cost no influence when part of a sector. So I simply spam outposts everyhwere and own the entire galaxy.

I haven't tried this (I've only put robot colonies in sectors once I've manually planned out the buildings, because I'm really fricking anal) but have you guys tried unchecking the box which makes the AI respect tile resources? If not, then it's kind of WAD for the AI to be building a bunch of farms.

Sectors are broken and horrible at the moment, the AI is to stupid and has zero idea's on what to do with slaves I feel like since I have slaves in most of my planets and its to the point that I do not use sectors at all. I would much rather take the penalty of not having any sectors then have sectors and let an AI who is to stupid to know what its doing control anything in my empire through sectors and I will continue to have zero sectors and take the penalty hit till the AI for sectors is fixed

If you don't use Ironman mode, my recommendation is to download one of the many mods that removes the core planet cap, so you get no penalty for not having sectors.

Your policy on AI has to be set to something other than "prohibited". If you are spiritualist, it will be prohibited by default because spiritualist pops will not like you legalizing AI.

While at this point it's more of a workaround, especially with slave or robot focused empires, I pretty much always just transfer core planets to a sector when they are full, and handle all newly colonized planets myself. As I said, it's a work around but it does make my empire run pretty smoothly for now until sector AI is improved.

Is there any patch confirmed that tries to fix sectors and robots?
The AI still builds farms on robot only planets and puts them on food ressoruces wherever it can.

I haven't tried this (I've only put robot colonies in sectors once I've manually planned out the buildings, because I'm really fricking anal) but have you guys tried unchecking the box which makes the AI respect tile resources? If not, then it's kind of WAD for the AI to be building a bunch of farms.
"Respect tile resources" should still be subject to sanity checks. There's no benefit to extra farms on a full world and especially not one with only robots.
