Should be easy enough to implement in a patch, a slider that just decides how many jumps away from the core planet of the sector it grabs before making a new sector, and something that would appease everyone. Sure it doesn't fix the numerous issues with AI, or sectors themselves but surely would fix alot of UI clutter, and a nice quality of life for everyone.

Please PDX? <3

I am no great fan of mods but read a post earlier that extended the range of creating new sectors to 8 jumps. Current now is two i think.

Correct, there are mods for it, but would be nice if it was a game feature so as not to kill my Achievement runs, and is a nice QOL in general.

I'd rather if I was able to simply assign sectors myself like in 2.1. That mechanic was already a part of the game, I really don't see why it had to be switched off.

I'm sure its a framework for something they have planned in the future. My guess is autonomous sectors acting like states or territories like EU IV, or CK2.

I agree, the sectors feel too small right now. They should at least scale with the map size, with medium being 4 jumps and each difference in size being 1 or 2 (or 2 and 4)

They gave us more control over our sectors now instead of less. So I doubt that is the intention. And honestly I'd rather it wasn't. But even if it was, I would prefer they switched off our ability to create sectors if and when they release some sector related addition. Not in advance.

I wouldn't say they gave us more control.. moer like less... You can't pre define sectors anymore, and you can't decide which systems are part of that sector either. You still have the base options you've always had ontop of that.

The only thing that was simplified was the currency and money for sectors where you decide how much they get and they don't generate their own, but again, I'd say that was more taking away than giving, or at least an equal =/= change, didn't add or give anything of real value in the grand scheme of things.

I agree mechanically they took away control, which is why I don't like the change. But this is what I meant. The planets in the sectors had more autonomy before than now, with sectors having their own resource gathering etc. If they were going for autonomous sectors, the system would make more sense before these changes than it does now.

I just want the old sector system back. If people don't want to use sectors, they shouldn't be forced too, but the current sector system is horrible.

I would prefer they just fix the stupid AI unable to work even basic mechanics in the game.. that would fix a plethora of issues with the current and late sector mechanics...

Sometimes I think PDX forgets that if they just do an overhaul on the AI itself, it would literally fix half of their problems, and putting a band aid on the situation by trying to make simpler mechanics for a stupid AI to deal with is not going to make the game better, or move it in a progressive state.. (Especially when the AI is too stupid to even deal with the simpler changes..)
