So I've been examining how this works, and while colonization is manageable, all other ways of gaining new planets like war or integration is terrible.

So far it seems like sectors will always be up to 2 star systems away from the first planet (designated as sector capital) colonized. I could be wrong with this but in my most recent games I've been able to predict how far my sectors will go with this and managed to get over a quarter of the map with only 9 sectors ( I was doing a kind of 9 realms Asgard game so this was really important to me.) This has been a bit iffy with the capital you start with though which was kind of confusing. It seems pretty solid for colonization.

My problem then is with regards to obtaining planets with war and integration. One way is to only claim "sector worlds" in the first war, which will be the planets that will determine how future sectors will work. In the second war, I claimed everything else and they all predictably aligned with the sectors I wanted. I don't understand how the system works when it comes to annexing someone in just one war, is sector capital determined by the first planet you occupy?

The problem here is integration which seems to make sector capitals all willy nilly. I had a vassal which could easily have fit into 2 sectors become 3.

The problem I'm facing is I'm planning on attacking a fallen empire. The fallen Empires near me can all easily fit in one sector, but I'm afraid the stupid system will split it into 2 which I find unacceptable. If I do my usual method, however, of only taking one planet to determine sector formation and declaring war again afterwards, I run the risk of having the FE awaken. Any thoughts?
