Really? including the navy and airforce? :)

I think there are some small improvements to be made (i.e. blockades playing more of a role), but certainly not making it so complex like HoI3 (which is what IIRC FelixCress had advocated in a previous thread). I think it would be better if V2's military system remained about as simple as it is at present.

I'd like some degree of automation, eradication of the 'meat grinder' (it's basically an exploit), and perhaps events related to the war. More emphasis on the strategic as opposed to tactical doomstack movement.

More decisive battles...

Speaking of battle events, it would be nice if they made the rebel creation event effect actually work.

The two clues do seem to point towards a substantial expansion, and one which improves some aspects of industrialisation and the social unrest. Very much looking forward to this, and hoping for another cryptic clue tomorrow. (Although, a full announcement tomorrow would of course be even more welcome)

No, it's not. It is inferior even to Vic1. They simply used the system from EU3. Major overhaul of this one is I think the only expansion I would be seriously interested in.

Edit: and no, I never advocated HoI-style system for Vic, as it is too complex.

Maybe it is just my brain trying to convince myself that this is about a WWI expansion, but the clue "on the fence" does associate to coalitions (or maybe in the political system). Anyways, like someone else said previously, the best part of this clue is that it shows that they are working on a proper expansion, not just a graphic pack. I'm a happy Victorian! :laugh:

Then what do you suggest for a major overhaul?

A lot to say. Smarter AI forming fronts. Armies not retreating through enemy lines. Terain modifiers and perhaps some units with terrain bonuses. Two kind of attack, as in Vic1: shock attack to destroy morale or normal attack. Better naval combat. Perhaps a little bit of real air units. Forts which work as fortifications, not as medieval castles.

So, if you compare to current awful system it IS major overhaul. I would say: Vic1+
