Second NI for Vijayanagar>Hindustan ?

I managed to get Vijayanagar to form Hindustan and own everything from Persia to Burma East/West and everything South of the Himalayas with a small base in Malaysia.

(basically all the Hindustan cores plus a bunch of minors to the East)

It is 1550ish and I finally have a neighbor with +25 tech and I am 2 slider moves to Innovative away from Westernizing (current leader is admin 7 and the heir is 8).

I started with Military Drill NI but I am unsure of what to take next. I am thinking Church Attendance Day to help recover from the -5 Westernization stab hit. I should get Gov 9 almost a decade before Westernization unless an event helps me along. Other thoughts were Superior Seamanship (to complete with Western navies) or Patron of The Arts which combined with defender of the faith and 2.5% prestige advisor would lock my prestige at 100 (better income reduced revolts etc).

CAD is my current favorite but I am worried it may be too short sighted (westernization only) while the other 2 are more long term benefits.

Any suggestions/comments?

Addendum:

After some reading of the Wiki Patron of the Arts is sounding good. The events it opens could help me with stab and innovative slider moves while the prestige help will make it easier to maintain while reducing BB. I can keep an Artist on staff for the stab help and to increase the events.

If I'm not a western nation, patron of the arts is almost always my first NI. High cultural tradition without using magistrates is great and the architectural development event can knock of a very large amount of time required to westernize. As far as your stability, hiring a good artist with your extra culture will help with that and also decrease the mtth of the event.

I also wouldn't mind a shot at university or fine arts academy before I have the tech to build them I easily have the cash

its a real gem of a NI for a large non-European state, I think in my current Ming game I've had about 10 Uni/Fine Art events and almost all the innovative slider moves I've ever needed, so good I passed on the military NIs to take it first.

Well it worked nicely... for getting my innovative to -4 fast BUT I was not ready to Westernize!!

I had WAY too many freshly annexed provinces and the revolts were killing me. The some suggestions for prep:

1 - You should have as few provinces as possible with revolt risk. All conversions should be complete or stopped before Westernizing
2 - Keep an Artist and High Judge spot for advisors
3 - Make sure legitimacy is 100% and you may want to keep an advisor spot open to boost it if an event drops it


I made MANY mistakes

1 - Had just diplo-annexed a 3 province vassal (and another was only done 15 years prior)
2 - Had just moved to Feudal Monarchy and was still at 60% legit
3 - Had just taken Swahili ( 3 provinces) to get England as a neighbor even though Persia was tech enough ahead to allow me to activate the decision
4 - I was in the process of colonizing the last 4-5 provinces of Timurids

I saved before the decision so will go back to then but I guess I will need to wait another 20-50 years to get all my cores lined up or at least down to a manageable level.

One question - the many stab hits and events (Resisting Westernization). SHould I always avoid the 10 year block or should I take one and then spend 10 years trying to hold it up there?

Depends on how long you need to get back to +3 and do the next step ...
If you have all your cores + some extras , the 10 years will likely be required

Tkes about 14 months per point of stab assuming I get no knock backs but they seem common.

Probelm is my Kiing died and the new Heir is ADM 5. I am worrid my current ADM 7king wil die before I am fully ready. I may have to risk it early.
