Medieval society was for teh predominant part an agrarian society and the passage of the seasons matered a lot to everyone from simple serf to elite nobles.

Recognizing these facts, I was wondering if it is possible to create events that will fire up only in a particular season, or even only in a particular month?
I know the hunt/feast/fair decision triad is season-based. But is it possible to make random seasonal events that are not decision-dependant?

EU4 is going to have a better seasonal system then ck2 currently has on the same engine. So it's not just possible but also inevitable that either a seasons mod will be added or a DLC/Update may come out in the future to add a limited feel of the seasons. Now with that said all i know about EU4's seasons is that it has them and the map will change in appearance... but what i'm tring to say is... Paradox i'll certainly shell out 5 more bucks to keep the Norwegians stuck in Scandinavia for 2-3 months.

Well, EU4 is going to have a different time spectrum. Also afaik, its going to be more state-centered and less character-centered than CK2 (as was with all EU games).

It is possible
Oh, what is the script line? I looked at the event scripts already in the game, but was unable to find any.

I found some that the trigger can be set to a particular month in a particular year - say an event that will happen only in november 1250.

What I'm looking for however is a script line that will make a said event able to fire randomly in every november each year.

scripting is a very funny animal. It's not quite the same as programming but there's times you'll have to a little more then a single line to get the result you are looking for. not knowing the scripting method ck2 uses personally all i can say is it'll probably be a multi line script with a date check first, and a random event type check. since you do sometimes get events at a random point that means there is something to be built off of there... whether or not there's a way to tie the two together easily.. well at that point you'd have to consult a modder
