Will Viking still be a trait for the Norse, since raiding is tied to their culture? Or is it tied to Sea-Bound/Sons of Ragnarok? I ask because I would still like to be able to get the Viking trait even if I don't have one of those two doctrines.

The "Viking" trait is currently tied to Germanic, not Norse (Culture).
I guess that you will get the viking trait if you have both Sea-bound/Sons of Ragnarok and is Norse culture.
And you won't be able to if you don't have the religions traits.

This is just pure speculation tho, Snow Crystal can prolly answer it better than me if he has not been kidnapped by the Paradox gods and thrown in the dungeons for his leak earlier.

Whilst waiting for his possible response, I have to wonder how it being tied to Germanic, and reforming would not allow it. It's a trait you get from raiding, and raiding is part of the Norse culture. Therefore, a person who is Norse, and Germanic, should still be allowed to get the Viking trait. The point being that the Norse should still be able to raid after reforming, even if they don't have SOR/SB. The downside being that they will just have to pay more.

While I do see your point, I have to say that you are forgetting that reforming a religion now is a complete overhaul, you don't have to make Germanic into a typical "Viking" religion.
You can turn it into a peaceful, defensive religion that does not raid if you want to. GIving up on your viking ways.

True, but I'm more trying to figure out if raiding will still be a cultural thing, or will it be tied to the religion. Therefore requiring you to have SOR/SB once you are no longer tribal. And, if Viking will still be available, due to it possible being an aspect of the religion that doesn't change. Like blots, runestones, etc.

Norse, Feudal and Tribal are still gonna be able to raid and since everyone that can raid with ships can raid with ships.
I think that raiding will not be an aspect of the religion that doesn't change when you reform it. As that would make "Sons of Ragnarok" useless, It would be identical to "Daring".

I don't think it would be useless, as it does decrease the cost of ship maintenance. It also has an affect on the AI. So, a culture could still be able to raid, it just wouldn't be as cheap, and the AI might not do it as much.

I respect your opinion, I however would personally feel that it is rather useless. It would however be way better if you could NOT raid with ships if you did not have this religious bonus. (Or was Berber/Norse).
