There will be no option for the sprites to vanish. Someone would have to mod the files.no you didnt you just said it can be modded, which is not always a solution, i was asking if a dev ever seriously said you cant get rid of the sprites.
Ultimately it comes down to the fact that there is a certain subsection of the community who think that demanding the ugly and inconvenient makes them "proper gamers".

If divisional planning and construction can be designed off map as it is in hoiV , I'm,not sure why that could not be the case for theatres, army groups etc and be done off the map as well. Yes, hq symbols on the map was silly, but you dont need them on a map to have an oob either. What makes you think so? Most people (especially the casuals) don't even go to the forum. I hated OOB in HoI 3 and I didn't ever posted in the forum.
What you see in the forum are mostly hardcore fans who demand hardcore features, which are not speaking for even remotly "most people" who will later buy this game.
OOB was tedious in building up, maintaining and moving useless HQs arround for their bonus.
My dear chap/chapess, I'm not forcing you to do anything. Nothing personal, but I doubt you're worth the effort.im not demanding the ugly and inconvenient. i think that the sprites are ugly and inconvenient, confusing compared to simple counters, nato or NOT! im NOT demanding counters i just dont know why i have to flipping see models of toy soldiers.. DLC? as it stands its just about impossible to tell what the hell is going on from any screengrab of combat ive seen so far.
i can understand not agreeing with me but thinking im crazy for not liking it isnt helpful at all. and besides. look at the screenshot posted on page two of the thread.
who could honestly prefer that? and if you do, thats ok. sprites have been in pdx games for as long as i can remember but why are you forcing me to use them now?

The wonderful variety of historical costumes do add value to Europa Universalis - the history is the point, after all. But in a World War II grand strategy game the shape of the helmets isn't useful information. Perhaps realistic death animations would be a somber reminder of the real life subject matter, but I doubt Paradox is going there. The Civilization games are great but I'm looking for a different experience when I play Hearts of Iron.im not demanding the ugly and inconvenient. i think that the sprites are ugly and inconvenient, confusing compared to simple counters, nato or NOT! im NOT demanding counters i just dont know why i have to flipping see models of toy soldiers.. That's the weird bit.... sprites have been in pdx games for as long as i can remember but why are you forcing me to use them now?
