Ohh its this tiresome discussion again, people telling each other what they want.
Why should the same arguments that didn't convince them a year ago to change their game make any difference now i wonder? I know making a lot of noise is quite important when you want to force a change, we can see it in politics as well as in our everyday lives, that the people who are the most persistent and annoying get what they want, no matter the quality of their argument while the silent and patient people get walked over, so i understand the regular revival of this topic. Likewise i engage in this not because i expect to change anyones minds, but rather to counter the impression that would arise if the discussion was left only to the self described "grognards" and "serious war-gamers" and "true HOI fans".
Little can be said, that hasn't already been repeated ad nauseum in this discussion. Like the fact counters come in a variety of shapes, forms and sizes by that standard there are counters in the game. No they are not the ones you want and yes the sprites (they are models not sprites if we are pedantic) cant be turned off. But all this stems from the misconception that you expect the game to be what you want it to be, rather than what the Devs want it to be.
Symptomatic of this is this quote:
Which was answered almost 2 years ago:
Which should have tipped people off, as well as their comparisons to EUIV and CKII. Rather then trying to force your view on the game my advice is to wait for the release and then judge it on its own terms. A pleasant surprise can only be had if you keep you expectations moderate while only dissappointment can come from a mindset that projects all your wishes in a title. Dont do this pls, thats what Kickstarter is for. Many things are still not clear about the game, but one thing i think is very certain if you buy the game next year: "It's not the boardgame you were hoping for."
