It would be nice to get a developer's input on this. Germany has enough working against her, why should she suffer from that same stupidity in our alternate history? I sure hope we are given the opportunity to remedy this.

fortifications ALLOVER switserland ????

why is switserland full of fortresses ?

The fact that there are high mountains doesnot necessarily mean that it is difficult for an army to conquer !!

It comes down to the DEFENSES built in the mountains that could make it difficult (bunkers, roaddefenses, etc..)!
And those weren't there..
Also switserland had good roads/infrastructure..it is NOT a desolate mountain range region (like in pakistan or Peru or whatever..)
..and knowing of the Swiss army organisation (calling up civilians) I DOUBT if especially in those days the swiss 'army' could build a stiff resistance to any invador!!

...

But all roads into Switzerland follow tight passes or small tunnels = easy to block?

Swiss army quality wouldn't matter for size of army, only in how well it holds out.

Then it might be to encourage historicity = don't attack.

You obviously can't make a Blitzkrieg through mountains...The Russian plains do suit however...:D

Euh, I meant plaines like in vast open areas...
This is the suitable place for Blitzkrieg at its best. France & the Lowlands are in fact too small to have the full benefits...

Ah but the good point about flags is that there is no problem changing them even after the game is released while map things are a problem :) So as long as we nag about the flags (and I'm talking about the flags we can and they want to change, you know what I mean) they will probably include the right ones in the end or at least in a patch.

They most certainly had the Bf109 around in 1936. It's first flight was dated to May 28th, 1935. Germany didn't have the numbers at the time to fully equip their squadrons with Bf109C's and D's until around '39-'40 when most JG's were equipped with 109E-1's. How else would the Condor Legion fight in the Spanish civil war with Bf109's?

maginot line?

So I see the Swiss mountain fortifications, and rightly so, but I don't see any indicators of the Maginot Line.

That's what I want to know. Unless the Maginot Line is invisible.:D

Also- the Swiss did have major fortifications along their borders in anticipation of German attacks, so the fortresses on the map are more than justified.

They'd probably use the He-51's like they did in RL at the Start of the Spainish Civil War.;)

For the map as it concerns the USA, I'd like to ask that the provinces be made with somewhere near the care of the European map, which is making me cry tears of joy. User-made scenarios will in many cases likely take the war to the New World, and something near the degree of accuracy regarding province shapes and rivers and terrain in America would be much appreciated. That said, I can't wait to see the effect of terrain upon combat.:)

Why wouldn't the provinces in the US just be the 48 mainland states? In Eu2 this was not the case because only a few states were around. Keeping the provinces like they were in Eu2 would just be silly. There are no indian nations in WWII. Well except the wind talkers :) The only other option I could see is dividing the US into 10 or so sections. South East/South West/North East/ North West etc.
