Did anybody notice the "eye" in the lower left corner ?
This is the same than the one used in EU2 to show/hide the history, no ?

Yes, I saw that. Very interesting. I wonder if the history box itself will look the same too. And if they will keep this in the final version.

Why not? It worked perfectly well for EU.![]()

There will have to be a little adaptation, so it can show minutes and hours too.

True.. I liked it.
It's not like it wouldn't fit in the HoI timeframe. There was nothing medieval or Rennaisance-like about it. So, I would think that it would work just fine.

Well, IMHO, I think it would fit best with this "eye" in gray. That would seem to me more appopriate in regard of the rest of the interface.

Oh, yeah.. I wonder if it will say it like "January 6, 1942 8:00" or it it will say ''1-6-42 8:00''.

There is a problem with localisation. For Example in Britain the date you had would be 6th January 1942 or 6/1/1942. The second date you specified is actualy the 1st of June 1942. Which could confuse players (I know I ran into this trouble with War in Russia).

I see.
That would get annoying, and if they did it either way, someone wouldn't be able to read it. So, they will have to do the whole date.![]()

It depends how much localisation they do. Americans have a nasty habbit of using z's rather than s's (although they do get cracking scores in Scrabble) and dropping vowels. So localised becomes localized and colour become color. However this does not make much difference to me (I actually have the US version of EUII) however dates would be a problem. If they do a full localised UK version then there be no problem. For localised Language versions is not a problem at all. I guess it comes down to how much effort they are willing to put into localising the product.

Ah, localization...that reminds me of something...
The US got EU2 with Strategy First around December 2001, while us poor Europeans got it at least a half year later with Ubisoft...![]()
I do hope that the time between the US and European release Of HoI is a lot smaller...
I know it takes longer for Europe because of the languages (British, French, Spanish, ...), but let's keep our fingers crossed...

Just do what I did with EUII and buy the American verision. However I agree it cost me mor emoeny than it shoudl off so please could the European distributer get their finger out early on this one.

I hope that the fisrt version will be applied. Otherwise you will get lost in the many numbers inside the box.

I have the french version of EU2, and it is french only. So the british version of a game sould take far less time to make than the french one. So, why not release the UK version of the game as soon as it is ready [so I can buy it online without paying too much of transport and customs rights, because I think there is no more customs within the E.U. (expect for drugs IIRC)] then wait, say, 6 months until my non-english speaking friends can buy it. I will be more experienced than them in this game and I would beat them all![]()
