Thank you gents.

By sheer luck I was able to ally both Castile and France at the same time. This combined with skilful use of loans allowed me to punish England heavy for a war it made on Burgundy. I took Northumberland.

The second war added Cumbria. Nothing else of note.

The third involved no direct help from my allies. I was invaded from all sides by Portugal, Norway, Denmark & England. Use of mercenaries permitted my Scots & Mercs to tear their enemies a new one. I pulverized the Danes & Norwegians, allowing for the growth of Sweden in to a Superpower.

My battering of England allowed the French to land their troops on England. And by then the jig was up. I took Yorkshire & Lancaster.

I intend on a fourth war. I want to specifically lift Cornwall and Wales out of England and then brutalize the remnant of the country until they come begging to be Scotland's bitch.

But I wont let them. I want to reduce England to ashes on a semi-regular basis. Partly as a warning to all those who might pose a threat to Scotland. Partly because I like to torture my enemies. Without ending.

I have a colony in Eiriksfjord and Connecticut. I am colonizing Manhattan. It is 1520. Castile inherited Burgundy and they're going toe to toe with the BBB.

Any suggestions on what to do? Any strategy is acceptable, except taking over England. Throw any unconventional ideas you have at me, gents.

Take your pick between Spain or France and break one of them up and ally the other. Annex the one you break up. France if easier because of all the tasty Vassals you can release but you will have to take their place of keeping Austria in check.

Scotland was never impossible. In my first game I managed to Conquer Ireland and colonise most of North America without invading England. I didn't ally with France but with Denmark. I had to fight 2 defensive wars against England which I won.

I haven't played Scotland with the new trade nodes. I'm still baffled by why there is no trade link from western Europe to North Sea.

He said that Castile inherited Burgundy, so Austria shouldn't be much of a threat.

I think that spreading out to Scandinavia would be a good way to go. Do you own Orkney yet? That is proper Scottish lands, right? Why stop at Orkney? Iceland and Norway should also be Scottish...and why not Denmark and Sweden as well? With France and Castile as allies, you should be able to handle some pretty big wars.

Keep your colonies going in the America. Eventually, you might want to conquer the other colonizers so that you can have a whole continent of free vassals to do your bidding!
