He could spell poorly so apparently he could write. if you're self conscious about the spelling and grammar you can do what I do. I type it in Word, then copy and paste it. Word has a spell and grammar check feature which is forever telling me that it doesn't recognize everyday words like glima.

Scotland (1499-1502) Part 4

(1499)
January
Today was a great day in our kingdom. We ordered 50 cannons and our treasury dropped to 76 ducats. We also signed a marriage alliance with the Teutonic knights. With the cannons in the coming wars we will do well.

Febuary
We sent a merchant to Andalusia today to expand trade there. France and our allies declared war on Spain. I told the king of this and he told me to support france in the war. So we also declared war on them. We loaded 5000 troops on the 1st Scottish fleet and we are bound for the hague.

March
Expanded in Andalusia. Still sailing to the Hague. We see they are building troops there... maybe we can get there before they do.

April
Offered a marriage to Venice which they declined. On the 26th a massacure happens with the 11000 calvary Spain had. They destroyed us in two days. The Scottish fleet sails for Lothain. We will pray for those souls.

May
Milan struck early peace with the pope at 187d to the pope. Another merchant sent in Andalusia.

June
Ordered 5000 infantry to replace the ones killed in the hague. The king looks at our treasury and sighs since we have 8 ducats left in our castle. We expand in Andalusia. France looses a major battle with Spain. We have 5 merchants in Andalusia 5 in Flanders 1 in Venice 1 in Genoa.

July
Royal marriage with Venice not accepted. The moral of our troops boost.

August
Merchant to Venice we now only have 1 ducat in our coffers. War is harsh for money.

September-December
Not much happen but the pilliaging in the western Europe by the alliance and the enemies of France. We look on it and are glad we are land locked. We are preparing something now. The king calls me to his chambers. He tells me something will happen next month that will make us dance with the devil.

1500

January
We declare war on England. We start moving troops to the Marches. We loose stability and mothers wonder if thier children will be home after this war. We have hopes we can destroy the English. We march troops to the Marches.

Februrary
We reach the Marches on the 18th. We wonder where Nolfolk's troops went to. We start an assault rather then a seige for the quick victory.

March
On March 2nd we take the Marches from England in a glorious battle. On the 8th the Teutonic Knights make peace with Poland with them paying 70 ducats. On the 11th Milian is annexed by France. Our Ally has done well with Millian and are raising more troops.

April
As soon as we take the Marches we march on Yorkshire. We get there and settle down for a seige of it. Our king and his troops have cannon power and we know the city will fall soon enough. We recruit 2000 infantry in Lothian and they should be avaliable in a month's time.

May-September
During these months we seige Yorkshire and various wars go threw Europe. The city falls on September 8th and we start attacking Lancashire. We move troops from Lothian to Yorkshire. They join and march to Lancashire.

October
We fought English's army of Lanshire of 13,000 troops and our army is reduced to about 15,000 souls and we begin the seige of Lanshire. We go on an attack but are weakened.

November-December
Savoy made peace with Spain with Savoy paying 45d.

1501
D27
January-May
In May of this year we captured Yorkshire making three provinces we have against England.
Naples makes peace with the Pope at 157D to the pope in May. We move troops to the Midlands.

June-December
We seige the Midlands. We send peace offers to England but they reject them. It is a long and hard seige. We see that England is attacking Yorkshire. We hope to take the Midlands then sue for peace before they take Yorkshire back.

1502
D30
January
We take the Midlands on the 19 after a long seige of it. We then offer peace of the marches and Yorkshire... THEY ACCEPT!!!! We now have two provinces with tax collectors and cloth as a trade! We send 6 merchants to Venice to open up trade there. Threw all this we lost no merchants and our treasury is still low. 13,000 souls limp back to Yorkshire the king in a parade in Yorkshire to commence. We have now 17 ducats. We will try to play it low and hope France makes peace with Spain.

Febuary
We keeped the Grampians and are rewarded. The king summons me to Yorkshire for a report that i give him. We have high hopes for the future now and i hope that we can stop the war from coming to the mainlands. We probably can keep any nation at bay since the English navy is the best in the world and other nations could probably only land a few troops at a time we can take care of. Another war has errupted I hope honoring our alliance will be alright. We probably should have reconsidered and try to join Frances alliance later on but we don't want to break it. The war is this: France, Scotland, Brittainy, Savoy VS Hanseatic League, Portuagal, Pommeria, and Holstein. I hope the future bolds well for our country it is looking good right now. Right now we must concentrate on rebuilding troops.
[End of report will do another soon]

Congrats!

Congratulations! They cede York! This is a first time in History, when Scots gain York from England! Also, congratulations for libiration of Marches (one time, England won in Medival period conflict against Scotland and gain Marches from them).

go scots!!!

YEESSSS! :D

way to go, laddie! that's almost exactly the way it worked out for me too, except i only got the marches in my first campaign. do you plan to expand into england's cb territory, or just consolidate the provinces with scottish cb shields? england should be considerably weaker now, and you can probably take a few more provinces off them, especially if england still has calais. :D

consider bulding some naval supply factories in the fish provinces (lothian and the highlands). you'll need them to keep up with england's navy. her army is not that good but her navy can beat yours straight up (which is why the french and/or spanish are helpful). those new cloth provinces will help with production incomes.

interested to see how this continues.

I was just wondering what settings your playing in terms of difficulty/aggresiveness.

I'm playing Scotland right now on Hard/Aggresive, and in 1615, England is no more!

The settings of the game are normal/normal IGC 2.1 1.9 patch with Scotland being the only major.

same settings as mine.

wildwolf -- did you annex england or did someone else annex them with your help? i've taken most of the isle of britain, save cornwall, essex, anglia, and one other province. i'm thinking about DOW'ing england so i can finish them off.

guy carleton -- awaiting the next installment.

KoN- First of all KHAN! (you Star Trek fans know what I mean);)

Second, yes, it was myself. After the French kicked them off Europe, I waged a series of wars that slowly eroded them away to just Kent and Anglia, plus their overseas cities. Then finally, I declared war without my allies being asked to support me, and took the whole thing!

Scotland is free once and for all!

(By the way, Ireland makes a great stepping stone to beating England in the long run!)

Of course, I had to bankrupt twice in the course, but a random event of -33% inflation means that that's pretty under control.

khan!!

wildwolf,

st2: wok is definately the best movie of the series, IMHO.

anyway, i've whittled england down to where they have kent, essex, anglia, ireland, and a few scattered colonies in north america. i have a colony in north america with troops ready to rush in and take the english colonies (since they have no fortresses there). i've thought about taking ireland back next time i go to war with england. i switched religion to CR catholic, and england is reformed protestant, so i have a permanent CB on england...

what settings you playing on?

and inflation.. well, i had that problem too in my game early on. i had to put most of my income into the treasury just to be able to afford improvements and manufactories. but a random inflation event brought it down to around 4% or so, and governors took care of the rest.

guy, looking forward to the next installment.
