where exactly do i get points for?

I searched the facs, but discovered no list.

Some simple experiemnts suggested:
Diplomatic:
+1 for each royal marriage
+2 for each alliance membership

Expansion:
+1 for establishing/expanding a trade post
+2 for establishing/expanding a colony

But what actions yield how many points for economy?
In most of my games Spain seems to have a huge advantage mainly in the economic area, how does she get all these?

By producing the most of any good, you will get points, IIRC.

I think you receive points by placing merchants, too...
