Scorched Earth mechanic

Hi,

As someone really impressed with what I have seen of EU4 in the demo........... (thought I would get that in given there are a few critics on here !)...........Can anyone explain how the scorched earth mechanic I have seen mentioned works and how you access the option.........

Select army units. On the lower right hand side of the unit menu, there is an option to use scorch earth mechanic on the province the unit is in.

When you click on your army, you have the army screen on the left side. On the right side of this screen, you have several option: dividing the army, haunt rebels etc... Among those options, you have the scorth earth one.

and the effect is this:

scorched_earth = {
trade_goods_size = -0.33
max_attrition = 10 # Maximum Attrition is increased by 10
local_tax_modifier = -0.75 # 75% less tax income.
attrition = 10
}

I'm not sure how long time it lasts though.

It lasts for 1 year in the demo, which isn't nearly enough IMO. It makes the economic repercussions it has on the province barely noticeable, and isn't very realistic that farmers would get their crops up from ashes to grain in less than a year.

I agree 2 to 3 years would be better
