Hi,

sometimes you reach a point where you have had enough and you want to stop. However just stopping does not really give you any sense of closure or satisfaction.

please add in a science victory. Victory is not really the right word for it. i would like to see a tech that lets you transcend the physical world. once researched you should then get the option to end the game and the galaxy. A score would be nice too.

In fact it might be cool to not limit this to players. how cool would it be to have an AI empire suddenly up and vanish leaving all there territory up for grabs!

Cheers

While I'm not against a science victory as such (it is after all a staple of the 4x genre), at the moment the tech tree is way too short for that to work out well.

I'm not suggesting getting the tech ends the game. Just gives you an end game button that you may or may not press as you see fit.

I do also agree that there I not enough width or height in the current tech deck but that's a different thread

I agree that FEs should occasionally vanish (transcend), leaving their territory up for grabs.

Also for the complaints about the tech-tree being too short, the transcend tech could cost an astronomical (note pun) amount of research, so finishing all other techs does not mean you are about to finish the game.

I agree, that as long as there are victory conditions, there should be more. But even the ones we have are absolutely meaningless. They are nothing more than a popup that says "You Won!" then you click okay and keep playing. There is no "end."

It's actually more satisfying to just stop playing when you feel that you have accomplished your goals.

There is a point, where you are absolutely guaranteed to stomp the remaining AI and conquer the galaxy. And it comes in the mid to late game, with several long hours ahead of you to actually "finish" stomping the AI. As far as I am concerned that's the point at which I have "Won" and go on to start a new game.

For me it would have to be something like "You have twice the fleet power of any other empire/federation, Congratulations, You've Won!"

Only a small flavour thing: What about leaving "the Galaxy to End". You know super-duper-splitscreen-hyperspace-megaline tech. Would feel more real than to trancend in 300 years. But I really like the idea, however it is called.

This would be awesome! Reminds me of the Dwemer from the Elder Scrolls, anyways if it was to be implemented into the tech tree I think it should only be given to 1-4 non-player controlled factions due to the possibility of all factions suddenly disappearing, or maybe even only spiritualists or science directorates can only use this tech.
