Schleswig war not happening?

Hello there,

I think i need some clarification on this.
I'm playing as Denmark, and when i got the first schleswig-war event in 1847 i went with Schleswig/holstein belongs to Denmark (something like that) and the response of Prussia was to back down, so no first schleswig-war

Does them backing down from the first war mean there will be no second schleswig war? Its march 1865 and no sign from an event yet. Or is it still to come?

IIRC yes, if they back down the first time, they accept DAN domination of Schleswig as permanent.

I assume you know what you are doing... what is your plan for "crushing Prussia" and all the other German minors (plus probably Austria)? I would typically think Prussia backing down would be a great relief... maybe you have a grand alliance...

I did the same thing, only playing as Russia. Danmark (as I like to call it) offered me an alliance, excluding Prussia. But that's what I wanted, since IF -hopefully- Austria got in on the action, I wanted to relieve them of Galacia... to form a more aesthetically pleasing Ukraine. AUS did get in on the action, so I got everything I wanted... and was doing really well against Austria, taking Wien, and rampaging around the country, hunting for divisions to destroy, and get my score high enough. Danmark had sued for peace w/ Prussia (just in the nick of time before Prussia would have blitzed 'em) earlier, but the war w/ AUS was still raging... with no real way for AUS to get to DAN... so it was really 'my' war now. Then, just before I could make a separate peace and take Galacia, those Danes sued for peace (status quo) FOR NO PARTICULAR REASON, and I got NOTHING.

That was the LAST time I ever embarked on wars of conquest, without being the alliance leader. I promptly quit that Russia game... and have ever since gone out of my way to crush Danmark in every game I play.

They think they're so clever... wheeling and dealing... plotting the major powers against one another... but alas, *I* am the diplomatic master, that never makes the same mistake twice...
