Suggestion / Request

An ability in solo player to set up scheduled pauses. What I mean is if you know you want to start justifying war against Poland on or soon after 1st March 1939 then you set a pause in advance. That way you don't look up from monitoring production and training and realise it's 16th April already . . .

Nice idea.
Maybe some kind of kalender with reminders.
For example when you build a network with your agents you can select "remind me at x%" and the game pauses and reminds you when you have the needed network strenght to do the mission you want to do.

Absolutely!
This is probably #1 QoL feature I miss for both EU and HoI (and I guess for many other PDX titles as well, just haven't played them recently). Ideally, one would have a whole list of 'pause-points' with self-made notes. I.e. "culture conversion at province X is going to hit 10% - re-bank those DIP!!11"

It's nice how you nailed it by just 2 words: scheduled pause. Yeah, really that simple.

I really want this feature for a specific purpose; to help me limit my playtime.

I suppose it's my responsibility to take care of myself, but an optional little reminder that it's time to call it a day wouldn't be much to ask for I think.

This brings me to another point, making it dynamic. This might be a bit more to ask for, but being able to set a scheduled pause for say when Germany is going for the anschluss, D-day has been completed or some other factor linked to in-game variables would be quite useful.

How would you handle this as a UI feature? I'm curious.
It would have to be some kind of calendar to set pause on specific dates, possibly with comments entered by the player. For pause on task completion, or pause on threshold reached, it would have to be more specific.

Since the chances of seeing any of these user-friendly but dev-time-consuming features are close to 0%, I would merely suggest adding an option in the Game Options to pause the game on the 1st of each month. Far from ideal, but it could still improve the situation a bit if used alongside the player's own notes taken in a separate editor? And it might be in the realm of doable things for the devs.

I'd love the option to have a pause triggered every time I get a NF or a tech. I hate having to restart iron man games because I went to take a piss and lost a few days of going down the focus tree

There is already a way: in the Game Options, enable the 'Pause on notifications' option (see following screenshot). The game will then pause whenever it displays a popup notification of research or focus completed.

Side note: Maybe you should manually pause your ironman games whenever you go away from keyboard?

Thanks for this!

I generally pause my ironman games when in war, but when in peace it can be a bit tedious to watch 24/7 (of game time, of course). I like to leave the game running while studying, doing domestic labor, pissing, etc
