Can anybody tell me about Moctezuma's EU2 scenario generator? I read the 'read me' file, but it doesn't answer some questions I have. I wrote to him directly, but the e mail address he provides is not working.

Does the scenario generator modify any EU2 files? Do you create scenarios while you are inside the game, or outside? Does it self-install? Does it generate scenarios randomly, or do you have to add/create each country yourself? How easy is it to use?

Thank you for any help...

(numbers added by me)

1) The readme says: This utility modifies following files:
/DB/Province.csv
/DB/Country.csv
/DB/Revolt.txt
/DB/Goods.csv
/DB/tax_stab.csv

So yes - it does modify existing files.

2) Outside.

3) The utility or the scenario?

4) It generates a "Fantasy" type scenario randomly.

5) Pretty easy.

Thanks for the reply, Havard. When the scenario generator modifies existing EU2 files, does it change the way other scenarios or the GC play? Does it add events/modify the AI, or do other things? I hope not...I rather like the way the game plays now. I don't need a tougher AI or modified events; I'm still learning the game. I just want a way to easily produce new scenarios, particularly Asian, African and Middle Eastern ones.

By self-install, I mean the scenario generator as well as the newly generated scenarios.

Many times when you download game scenarios and utilities from the Web there is little or no info on how to install them or what they will do to your existing game program. Sometimes you don't want the whole Platinum Double Death Match Version mod (especially if it completely replaces the existing AI), you just want one scenario that comes with it, or you may want to still have access to the plain vanilla version of the game.

Can anybody tell me anything more about the scenario generator and, for that matter, the scenarios that exist in the download depot? Do they change how the existing game scenarios play? Or do you just move the downloaded scenarios into the scenarios folder?

Have you read the readme of the scenario generator? Most of your questions are answered there...

Most of the scenarios in the depot are not changing the other scenarios. Some of them change game files, but run from a moddir allowing peaceful coexistance. In general all scenarios will have a readme, and any scenario with more than a *.eug file will have installation instructions there. If it's just the eug you can put in in the scenario folder.
